Okay, so I saw this thing the other day about some game called FragPunk that’s gonna have some playtests. I got curious and decided to check it out myself. It’s made by NetEase Games. I think they make mobile games, but I’m not totally sure.

First, I tried to find when the playtests are happening. It took a bit of searching, but I finally found out that the Closed Beta Test, or CBT as they call it, is gonna start on October 10, 2024. That’s still a ways off, but it gives me something to look forward to. I think I signed up for their newsletter so I can get more updates.
Next, I wanted to see if there was anything about signing up for the playtest. I went to their website, but it was kind of a mess. I couldn’t find a clear sign-up button or anything. I poked around in the menus for a while, but no luck. Maybe they’ll send out invites later or something.
Then I started typing the game’s name into the search bar to see if I could find any other games like it. It kept suggesting games, but I didn’t recognize any of them. I guess they’re all pretty new or something.
Exploring
- Found out the date I looked up when the playtest starts.
- Tried to sign up I went to their site to sign up for the playtest.
- Searched for games I typed the game’s name to find similar games.
I saw that the announcement for this FragPunk thing was made on September 26, 2024, in Guangzhou, China. That’s where NetEase Games is based, apparently. They’re part of some bigger company called NetEase, Inc. It’s all a bit confusing, but whatever.
I’m not really sure what to expect from FragPunk, but I’m kind of excited to try it out. Maybe I’ll get into the playtest, maybe I won’t. We’ll see what happens. I’ll keep you guys posted if I find out anything new.
