Alright, so you wanna know about Fernando Valenzuela’s house, huh? Well, lemme tell ya what I know. This fella, Fernando, he was a big deal pitcher for them Dodgers way back when. They called it “Fernandomania,” can you believe it? Folks went crazy for him.
Now, Fernando, he had a few places, see? He wasn’t no slouch. First off, he had this big ol’ house he built for his family down in Mexico. Etchohuaquila, that’s the place. That’s where he lived when he was playin’ for the Dodgers, I reckon. Los Angeles, that’s a big city. Lots of cars and people, not like my place, that’s for sure.

This fella, Fernando, he was from Mexico, Navojoa to be exact. A scout found him playin’ ball down there and brought him up to the big leagues. And boy, did he make a splash! Shutout the Astros in his first game, can you imagine? Folks loved him, especially the Mexican folks in Los Angeles, they were real proud.
He married a gal named Linda, and they had four kids. Fernando Jr., Ricardo, Linda… Can’t remember the other one. Anyway, they spent time in Mexico and in Los Angeles, back and forth, I guess. Probably nice to have a place in both spots, ya know?
Fernando Valenzuela, he was worth a lot of money, they say. Six million dollars when he passed away in 2024, God rest his soul. That’s a lot of money where I come from. Enough to buy a whole lotta beans and tortillas, that’s for sure.
So, he had this house in Etchohuaquila, built for his family, and then this fancy mansion in Los Angeles. One for the quiet life, one for the big city life, I guess. He lived the good life, that Fernando. Played ball, made money, took care of his family. Can’t ask for much more than that, can ya?
They say his mama had a house in Etchohuaquila too. Maybe that’s where he learned to throw that ball so good. Mamas are important, ya know. They teach you things, like how to make tortillas and how to be a good person. And maybe, if you’re lucky, they teach you how to throw a baseball real hard.
I heard he also had a place in Tucson, Arizona at some point. That man got around, didn’t he? But the main places, the ones everyone talks about, are the one in Etchohuaquila and the one in Los Angeles. One’s his roots, the other is where he made his name.
So, there ya have it. A little bit about Fernando Valenzuela’s houses. He was a great pitcher, a family man, and he had some nice places to live. A real success story, if you ask me. But then again, nobody ever asks me nothin’.
Los Angeles, that’s where he played, right? Big city, lots of lights. Not like Etchohuaquila, which is small and quiet. He had both worlds, I guess. The fast life and the slow life. Probably good for a fella, to have a little bit of both.
