I’ve always been a huge golf fan, and I got to thinking the other day about who has the most wins on the PGA Tour.
So I grabbed my laptop and started to do some digging. I was pretty sure Tiger Woods was up there, but I was not sure who else was in the top ranks. Turns out, there are a few names that came up a lot.
First, I opened up my browser and searched for “most PGA Tour wins.” The first few results were all about Tiger and another guy named Sam Snead. Apparently, they are tied at the top with 82 wins each! That is insane!
I was so interested in this, I opened a new tab and started looking into Jack Nicklaus, who someone mentioned in one of the articles. This guy is a legend! He has 73 PGA Tour wins and a bunch of other victories, adding up to 115 worldwide wins.
Next, I made a list of the top guys. It went like this:
- Sam Snead – 82 wins
- Tiger Woods – 82 wins
- Jack Nicklaus – 73 wins
But I did not stop there. I wanted to know about the PGA TOUR Champions, too. So, I did another search. I found out that Bernhard Langer recently got his 47th win on that tour, breaking the record! He passed Hale Irwin, who had 45 wins. Crazy how these guys keep playing at such a high level.
Then, I stumbled upon an article about Tiger Woods’ car crash a few years back. It said he’s been playing a part-time schedule since then and needs to take a cold plunge every day. That is some serious dedication.
I also learned that very few golfers have won 10 or more tournaments on the PGA Tour, let alone 82! It really puts into perspective how amazing these top guys are.
I also found out that Tom Watson, a name I’ve heard my dad talk about, has 39 PGA Tour wins. And there are other big names like Ben Hogan and Arnold Palmer, but I did not have time to look into all of them.
After spending a good chunk of time researching, I finally put my laptop away. It is pretty clear that Tiger Woods and Sam Snead are at the very top when it comes to PGA Tour wins, with Jack Nicklaus not far behind. And on the Champions Tour, Bernhard Langer is the man!
