Alright, so listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about this young fella, Ethan Holliday. Heard he’s a big deal in baseball, like, a really big deal. Kids these days, huh? They got all this fancy stuff goin’ on.
Now, this Ethan, he’s from Stillwater, Oklahoma. You know, that place with all the… well, never mind. Point is, he goes to Stillwater High School. Just a regular high school, I reckon, but apparently, he’s somethin’ special there. Folks are sayin’ he’s the best high school baseball player in the whole dang country for the 2025 class. Can you believe that? Best in the whole country! My grandson couldn’t hit a ball if his life depended on it, but this Ethan, he’s different, I guess.
They say he hits the ball real hard. Like, super hard. I heard somethin’ about 108 miles per hour. Now, I don’t know much about that fancy speed stuff, but that sounds mighty fast to me. Like a car on the highway, but faster! He’s got this swing, they say, it’s got all this… torque and rotation. Sounds like a washing machine, if you ask me, but I guess it works for him. They also say his hitting ain’t perfect, lags behind a bit, whatever that means.
- He’s strong, that’s for sure.
- He can hit the ball far, real far.
- And everybody’s talkin’ about him.
This Ethan fella, he even went to somethin’ called the High School Home Run Derby. That was in Texas, somewhere in Arlington. Big ol’ field, I bet. He was hittin’ them balls, showin’ off, I reckon. Just like them strong fellas on TV, but younger. And you know what else? This kid’s daddy is Matt Holliday. Yeah, that Matt Holliday! The one who played baseball for a long time, was even on the Cardinals team that won that World Series thingy back in 2011. Guess baseball runs in the family, huh? Like father, like son, they say. Matt, he trained Ethan and his other boy, Jackson. Jackson, he got picked number one overall by the Orioles in 2022. Big news, that was. Now Ethan’s turn to shine, I guess.
People been watchin’ Ethan for a while now. Even a year ago, they knew he was good. Real good. Now everyone’s sayin’ he’s gonna be the top pick in the draft next year. That’s a lot of pressure for a young fella, if you ask me. But hey, maybe he can handle it. He’s been around baseball his whole life, what with his daddy being a big shot and all. He’s used to it, maybe.
So, that’s the story of Ethan Holliday, as far as I can tell. He’s a young fella from Oklahoma who hits the ball real hard and everyone thinks he’s gonna be a big star. Just like his daddy, I guess. Well, good for him. Hope he stays outta trouble and keeps his head on straight. This world can be a crazy place, especially for someone famous. But that’s none of my business, I reckon.
Anyways, that’s all I got for ya. Time for me to go make some supper. Got a hankerin’ for some fried chicken. Now, that’s somethin’ I know about, unlike all this baseball talk. But hey, it’s good to learn new things, even at my age. Who knows, maybe I’ll even watch one of Ethan’s games someday. If I can figure out how to turn on the TV, that is. These newfangled contraptions, they ain’t easy for an old lady like me.
In short, this Ethan kid is one heck of a baseball player, and we’ll see what happens to him in the future. Seems like he’s got a bright one ahead of him, though.
