Alright, alright, let me tell ya ’bout this tennis match, somethin’ about these two gals, Erika somethin’-and-other and that Danielle Collins. Heard it on the radio, the fella was yappin’ away, sounded important.
So, first off, they was talkin’ ’bout Monterrey, Mexico. That’s way down south, ain’t it? Hot as blazes, I reckon. Anyways, these two, Erika Andreeva and Danielle Collins, they was gonna smack a ball around on August 21st. Two in the mornin’, the radio fella said. Who in tarnation plays tennis at two in the mornin’? Must be some kinda night owls them tennis folks.
Then, they was jabberin’ about somethin’ called UTC time, somethin’ somethin’ four fifty-five. Don’t know what that means, sounds fancy though. They was playin’ at some place called Centre Court. Sounds grand, like a place for a queen or somethin’. Monterrey city, Mexico. Said it twice, so it must be important, that Monterrey place.
Now, hold on a minute, the radio fella switched gears. Started talkin’ ’bout Indian Wells. That’s somewhere else, I guess. Said these two gals, yeah, same ones, Erika and Danielle, they was gonna play again! This time on March 7th. Eight at night, this time. See? Normal folks hours. Still don’t get why they play each other so much, must be good competition or somethin’.
Eurosport, that’s the name the fella kept sayin’. Guess they’re the ones showin’ this tennis stuff. Must be on that TV thingy my grandkids are always watchin’. Too much noise for me, I like my peace and quiet.

The radio fella kept goin’ on and on, somethin’ ’bout results and “H two H statistics”. Don’t know what that gibberish is. Sounds like a bunch of numbers and fancy talk. All I care about is who whacks that ball harder and wins, ya know? Simple as that.
And then he was talkin’ ’bout Erika’s “latest results.” Means how she’s been doin’ lately, I s’pose. Well, if she’s playin’ against this Danielle girl twice, she must be doin’ alright. Or maybe that Danielle girl is just always lookin’ for a fight, who knows.
Anyways, that’s the gist of it. Two tennis gals, smackin’ a ball around in different places at different times. Eurosport showin’ it all. And me, just tryin’ to make sense of it all. Tennis, huh? Seems like a lot of fuss over a little yellow ball. But hey, to each their own, I always say.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens. They make more sense than this tennis talk, that’s for sure.
