Okay, so, I’ve been a huge Eagles fan for as long as I can remember. I even remember those awesome Kelly Green uniforms from back in the day. Man, those were the days! Anyway, I saw they were bringing them back this season, and I just knew I had to get my hands on some of that retro goodness.
First, I hit up the official NFL Shop. I figured that’s the most obvious place to start, right? And they did have some vintage stuff, some pretty cool throwback jerseys and all that. But I wanted to see what else was out there.
So then I checked out the Eagles’ official online store. They had a decent selection of vintage clothing, too. I was getting pretty excited, browsing through all those old-school designs. I added a couple of things to my cart, but I still wasn’t quite satisfied.
Next, I moved on to DICK’s Sporting Goods. I figured a big sports retailer like that would have a good selection, and I was right! They had a bunch of retro Eagles gear, including jerseys, shirts, and even hats. I was like a kid in a candy store, seriously. I browsed a wide selection of the retro jerseys, they really got me pumped up. I was seriously considering buying a jersey right then and there, but I was feeling picky, and decided to look around some more.
I also learned that the NFL changed their helmet rule a couple of years ago, which is probably why the Eagles can even wear these retro uniforms now. Then I also learned that the Eagles will wear them twice this year, in the game against Miami and the game against Buffalo, and they are also wearing them for the game against Dallas. How exciting!
After looking some more, I stumbled upon a site that had a ton of officially licensed retired player jerseys and uniforms. It was like hitting the jackpot! They had jerseys for all my favorite players from back in the day. I finally found the perfect jersey – a classic Reggie White in Kelly Green. Score!
Here’s what I ended up doing:
- Started at the NFL Shop and the Eagles’ official store.
- Checked DICK’s Sporting Goods and found a good selection.
- Discovered a site with a huge collection of retired player jerseys.
- Bought a Reggie White Kelly Green jersey.
- Learned about the NFL’s helmet rule change and when the Eagles will wear the retro uniforms.
Man, I can’t wait to wear that jersey to a game. It’s going to be epic! Go Birds!
