Alright, so today I wanna talk about snagging a free light cone for Robin. I’ve been messing around with this for a bit, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey.
First off, I started digging into this whole “free event LC” thing. I saw some chatter online about how the damage boost might just be for Robin herself, which kinda bummed me out. I mean, I was hoping for some sweet team damage action. But hey, gotta work with what you got, right?
Then I stumbled upon this other thing about Kafka’s light cone. Apparently, it gives you an extra debuff for free, which is pretty neat for activating some relic set buff. And don’t even get me started on Huohuo’s light cone. People are saying it’s the best thing since sliced bread for abundance users. Now I started to feel like I was missing out.
My Experiment Begins
But back to Robin. I saw some folks hyping up this free 4-star light cone from the 2.2 event as a solid F2P option. It sounded too good to be true, but I’m always up for a challenge. So, I hopped into the game and started grinding for that event cone. It was a bit of a pain, but I finally got my hands on it.
- First Impression: Not gonna lie, it didn’t blow me away at first. It’s got this passive that increases damage for attacks following up after an ally’s turn, but only for Robin. Hmm, okay.
- Testing Phase: I slapped it on Robin and took her for a spin. The damage increase was there, but it wasn’t anything crazy. I started to wonder if this was really worth the effort.
- Delving Deeper: Then I remembered some discussions about Robin’s energy problems. Her ultimate costs a whopping 160 energy, which is a lot. I realized that her signature light cone, along with an ERR rope, was the go-to solution for that.
The Realization
That’s when it hit me. This free event cone might not be the best for damage, but it could be a decent stopgap for players who don’t have her signature cone. I mean, any damage boost is better than no damage boost, right? Especially for us F2P folks.
I also found this other light cone called “Chorus”. It gives a flat 8% attack increase to all allies after entering the battle. And if you superimpose it to level 5, it goes up to 12%. That’s actually pretty sweet! It’s easy to get and superimpose, so it became my new favorite for Robin as a free-to-play option.
So, here’s the thing. It does boost the team’s overall ATK, but I found that you need to manage Robin’s energy regeneration better. I tried a few different things, like tweaking her relics and team comp, and it made a noticeable difference.
In the end, I learned that this free light cone journey with Robin is all about managing expectations. It won’t turn her into a hyper carry overnight, but with some smart setup and a bit of patience, it can definitely make a difference in your team’s performance. And for a freebie, that’s not too shabby at all!
