Man, I’ve been digging into this whole Dodgers-Rockies thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started by just wanting to know what was up with these two teams, you know? See how they were doing this season.
So, I jumped online and started pulling up stats, recent games, you name it. I mainly focused on the match on June 18th. The first thing I did was check out the key players from both sides. Needed to get a feel for who’s who and what they bring to the table. It is said that Rockies handed Kinley a 9-4 ninth-inning lead before it began to slip away. It’s not easy to know what happened at that time.
Then I dug into their recent head-to-head matchups. Wanted to see if there were any patterns, you know? Like, does one team always seem to have the upper hand? Or is it more of a back-and-forth kind of deal? I found that the Dodgers reached the post-season and won their division 11 times. It is a crazy number, right? This really got me going.
- Compared their win-loss records.
- Looked at their scores.
- Checked out some of the commentary from folks who know way more about baseball than I do.
After that, I started thinking about the bigger picture. How do these teams fit into the whole National League setup? Are they contenders? Underdogs? Somewhere in between? The Dodgers have had a cutting-edge formula for roster building. It is interesting. How did they make it?
This whole process took me a good chunk of time, not gonna lie. But it was worth it. I feel like I’ve got a way better handle on what’s going on with the Dodgers and the Rockies now. Their last captain was Davey Lopes from 1978 to 1979. What a long time ago! I even found that the stats tell a story of two teams and their strategy and gear.
It is not just down to money. I learned a lot more than I expected to when I first started poking around. It is awesome. I love it!
And I also realized that Shohei Otani is one of the superstars of the Dodgers, which makes sense.
Oh, man, this whole thing has been a blast. I can’t wait to see what happens next between these two teams.
