Okay, so I was looking into this guy, Chris Long, and how he made his mark with the Patriots. I gotta say, it was a pretty interesting deep dive.
Started with the Rams
First off, I dug into where he came from. You know, his time before the Pats. This guy was with the St. Louis Rams for a good chunk of his career. Drafted high, number 2 overall back in 2008. He was a beast there, racking up sacks and making plays. I spent a good few hours just watching old Rams highlights, seeing him in action. It was wild! I took some screenshots of him. But it did not work well.
Joined the Patriots
Then, the big move happened in 2016. He signed with the Patriots. I remember thinking, “What’s Bill Belichick cooking up now?” I even saved the news articles about it back then, just in case. It is one of my habits. I tried to dig into my archives for these, but man, it took forever to find them. My storage space was a mess. But finally, I found it!
Role on the Team
So, with the Patriots, he wasn’t the main star like with the Rams. More of a role player, you know? But a key one. I spent an afternoon just breaking down his game film from that season. He was there, doing the dirty work, setting the edge, getting pressure. I made a bunch of notes, scribbling down time stamps and what he did on specific plays.
Super Bowl LI
And then, the big one, Super Bowl LI. What a game, right? I re-watched the whole thing, just focusing on Long. He didn’t have the flashiest stats, but he was there, making those crucial plays. I was yelling at the screen like I was watching it live again. I even jotted down my reactions in real-time, it was pretty hilarious to read back.
One Season, One Ring
After that one season, he moved on to the Eagles, and won another Super Bowl there. But that’s another story. I focused on his time in New England. One season, one ring. Not bad, huh? I wrapped up my little project by organizing all my notes, screenshots, and those old articles. Felt good to finally have it all sorted. It was a fun one!
- Watched Rams highlights.
- Searched for old articles.
- Analyzed Patriots game film.
- Re-watched Super Bowl LI.
- Organized all my notes.
I’ve been spending quite a lot of time on this, nearly a whole day. But it was worth it! Hope you guys like it.
