Hey guys, it’s your boy back again with another update, and today we’re diving deep into the “osu qb depth chart”. Yeah, you heard that right, we’re talking Buckeyes football!
So, I started my journey into this rabbit hole when I noticed that Ohio State doesn’t really put out an official depth chart anymore. It’s all hush-hush, you know? But I’m a curious guy, and I wanted to piece together what the QB situation looks like for the 2024 season. Plus, there are a few changes that I’ve found that are interesting to share.
First off, I dug through all the usual spots – fan forums, sports news sites, even those kinda shady Twitter accounts that claim to have insider info. It was a mess, a total information overload. Everyone’s got their own opinion, and it’s hard to separate fact from fiction. There was news on the latest offensive and defensive positions with the 2023 OSU depth chart, which mentioned the transfer of Kyle McCord to Syracuse. I guess I wasn’t the only one interested in the depth chart.
Building the Depth Chart
I decided to make my own chart. I grabbed a pen and paper – yeah, I’m old school like that – and started jotting down names. We all know Will Howard is likely the guy, the QB1. He’s got the experience, the arm, and he transferred in for a reason. I learned that he was born on September 24, 2001, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and is the son of Bob and Maureen Howard. He also has three siblings, Tori, Ryan, and Grace. It seems he’s well-prepared for this season.
Then, I looked at Devin Brown. He switched his number to 33. There’s some buzz around him, he’s got potential. I figured he’s probably the backup, the number two. He’s been with the team, he knows the system, and he’s hungry to prove himself.
After that, things got a little murkier. There’s this Julian Sayin kid, a freshman, super talented. I saw some folks saying he could even challenge for the starting spot. He’s definitely one to watch. He definitely ‘needs to continue to push’ according to some sources. I also found that former Ohio State Buckeyes star quarterbacks C.J. Stroud and Justin Fields both started for their respective NFL teams this past Sunday.
- Will Howard: My guess is he’s the starter, the QB1.
- Devin Brown: Probably the backup, learning the ropes.
- Julian Sayin: The young gun, could surprise everyone.
So, I put it all together, my own little unofficial depth chart. It was a fun little project, and it gave me a better sense of what the Buckeyes are working with. Finally, I shared my findings with my online buddies. We had a good discussion, and some even added their own insights.
Anyway, that’s my take on the Ohio State QB depth chart. It’s just my opinion, based on what I could gather. Things could change, injuries happen, and surprises pop up all the time. But for now, that’s how I see it. Let me know what you guys think in the comments!
