Okay, so today I decided to look into this “CB Bucknor” thing. I’d heard the name tossed around, mostly in the context of baseball and, uh, let’s just say controversial calls. So, I figured, why not dive in and see what all the fuss is about?

First, I hit up the search engine. Just typed in “CB Bucknor” and, boom, pages and pages of stuff. Mostly complaints, it seemed. Lots of angry baseball fans.
Diving into the complaints
I started clicking through some articles and forum posts. Man, people are passionate about this guy! They’re posting videos of calls he’s made, analyzing them frame by frame, creating memes, the whole nine yards. It’s intense.
- Lots of talk about his strike zone. Seems like it’s a… let’s call it a “flexible” strike zone.
- Quite a few mentions of blown calls at crucial moments in games. Ouch.
- Some people even questioning his eyesight! That’s harsh, but hey, it’s the internet.
I even stumbled upon some “worst calls” compilations. Okay, after watching a few of those, I can kind of see where the frustration comes from. Some of those calls were… questionable, to put it mildly.
My conclusion
I will make a summary of my findings. I am not a baseball expert. I don’t follow every game religiously, but I can understand basic rules. From what I gathered today, CB Bucknor seems to be a very, very controversial umpire. Whether he’s truly that bad, or if it’s just a case of a few bad calls getting amplified by the internet, I can’t say for sure. But, man, those fans are riled up. It’s clear this guy has a reputation, and it’s not a good one.
