Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “Canelo Energy” gas stations pop up around Mexico, and I got curious. I mean, it’s Canelo Álvarez, the famous boxer, right? What’s he doing in the gas business?
First, I did some digging online to learn more. Turns out, Canelo launched this whole new brand of gas stations in Mexico. It’s called “Canelo Energy”. Pretty straightforward, huh?
Then, I noticed a Canelo Energy station was constructed not far from my place. I decided to check it out, I drove to the station one afternoon. It looked pretty modern and clean. The red and black colors really stand out, just like Canelo’s boxing robe. I pulled up to one of the pumps, and a friendly attendant came over.
I filled up my tank and I have to say it is just regular gas. There is nothing new. I went inside the convenience store to get a drink. Inside the store, it’s the same kind of stuff you’d find in any other gas station, snacks, drinks, coffee. I grabbed a soda and chatted with the cashier for a bit. I asked her about the station, and she said it had been pretty busy since it opened. People are just curious, I guess. I am one of them.
Here’s what I noticed during my visit:
- Branding: It is all Canelo. The logo, the colors, even some posters of him boxing inside the store. If you are a fan, you will like it.
- Service: The service was good, the attendants were friendly, and the place was clean. Nothing to complain about.
- Price: The gas prices were about the same as other stations in the area. No big surprises there.
Finally, I paid for my gas and soda and left. Honestly, it’s just a regular gas station with Canelo’s name on it. Nothing wrong with it, just nothing special.
Overall, it was a normal gas station experience. I guess it is cool that Canelo is expanding his brand into different businesses. Also, this gas station is a good option if you’re a fan of the boxer. You can support his business while you fill up your tank. As for me, it’s cool to see, but I’ll probably just go to whatever gas station is closest when I need to fill up next time.

It is just a gas station with Canelo’s name and brand. But hey, it was a fun little adventure, and now I can say I’ve been to a Canelo Energy gas station!
