Okay, so I’ve been diving into the world of author C.J. Perry lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey figuring out where to start and how to keep up. This author has a series called “Witch City Mystery”, and I wanted to read them in the right order, you know, to avoid spoilers and all that stuff.
First thing I did was to hit up the internet. I mean, where else would you go, right? I found a bunch of sites listing book series and their reading order. After some digging, I discovered that C.J. Perry is known for her Witch City Mystery series, which has a total of 12 books. It seemed straightforward enough.
I started making a list of all the book titles. And I noticed they were presented in two ways: publication order and chronological order. Publication order is simply the order the books were released. Chronological order, on the other hand, is the order of events within the story’s timeline. Sometimes they match, sometimes they don’t.
- Made a list in publication order: This is the order the books were released, which is often how people read series.
- Checked for a chronological order: Some series have events that happen out of the publication order, so I wanted to see if that was the case here.
- Compared the two lists: In many series, they’re the same, but it’s always good to double-check.
After getting my list sorted, I decided to go with the publication order. It just felt like the natural way to experience the series as it unfolded for readers over the years. Plus, it’s usually how the author intended the story to be read.
So, I grabbed the first book in the series and started reading. And let me tell you, it was a good choice. I got sucked into the world C.J. Perry created. The characters were interesting, the setting was vivid, and the mysteries were intriguing.
As I moved through the series, I kept my list handy and ticked off each book as I finished it. It was pretty satisfying to see my progress. And because I was reading in order, I didn’t have to worry about accidentally spoiling anything for myself.
By the time I finished the last book, I felt like I had really gone on a journey with these characters. I saw them grow and change, and I was there for all their ups and downs. It was a great reading experience, and I’m glad I took the time to figure out the right order before diving in.
So, if you’re thinking about checking out C.J. Perry’s Witch City Mystery series, I highly recommend doing a little research first to figure out the reading order. It might seem like a small thing, but trust me, it can make a big difference in your enjoyment of the series.
This whole experience reminded me a lot of when I tried to figure out the Percy Jackson series or even the Joe Pickett series. The same idea applies – find the list, check the order, and enjoy the read! Reading a series in the wrong order is a mess and confusion I wanted to avoid.
I saw that there was this blog called “How To Read” which seemed to be all about this kind of thing. Thought about adding my experience there, but then I figured, why not share it here with you folks first? Maybe it’ll help someone out there who’s scratching their head over where to start with C.J. Perry’s books.
And you know what? After all that, I realized I was doing what many readers do. Just trying to get the most out of a good book series, whether it is by C.J. Perry, C. J. Box, or any other author with a bunch of books under their belt.
Well, that’s my story. Hope it wasn’t too boring. Just wanted to share my little adventure in the world of book series reading orders. Happy reading, everyone!
