Alright, so, let’s talk about this young fella, Copeland Barbee. I heard tell he’s a wrestler, just 23 years young. That’s about the age my grandpappy started farmin’, but this boy, he’s wrasslin’!
Who is this Copeland Barbee fella anyway?
Well, from what I gathered, listenin’ to the folks chatterin’, this Copeland, he’s a wrestler from some fancy place called Queens University of Charlotte. Never heard of it myself, but sounds highfalutin. They say he’s a “collegiate wrestler.” Don’t rightly know what that means, but sounds like he wrestled in college, you know, them schools for the rich kids.
And wouldn’t ya know it, he got himself signed up with somethin’ called WWE NXT. Now that, I HAVE heard of. Seen it on that there TV box when I visit my daughter in the city. Lots of flashy lights and folks smackin’ each other around. Not my cup of tea, mind you, but it seems awful popular.
- He was born on April 30th. Spring chicken, just like I said, 23 years old.
- He went to one of them WWE tryouts. Guess he impressed them city slickers enough to get a contract.
- They say he’s signed to the “yellow-and-black brand.” Sounds like a bunch of bumblebees to me, but hey, whatever floats their boat.
What’s this WWE NXT thingamajig?
From what I understand, it’s like, uh, the minor leagues for wrestlin’. You know, like them baseball fellas start in the small towns before they go playin’ in the big cities. This WWE NXT, it’s where these young wrestlers go to learn the ropes, get stronger, and become famous I guess.
They got all sorts of names there, I hear. Lucky Ali, Brogan Finlay, Jay Malachi, Madi Wrenkowski… Sounds like a bunch of made-up names to me. But Copeland Barbee, that’s a real name, a good ol’ country name, almost. Reminds me of my neighbor Barbee down the road, always complainin’ about the crows in his cornfield.
Is this a big deal?
Well, I reckon it is. See, all them folks on the internet and that TV box, they’re all a-buzzin’ about it. PWInsider, whatever that is, they keep talkin’ about it. Sounds important, so I guess it’s a big deal for this Copeland fella and for this here WWE too. If folks are talkin’, that means it matters, right?
What’s gonna happen next?
Well, I ain’t no fortune teller, but I’d say this young Copeland is gonna be busy learnin’ how to wrestle on that TV box. He’ll be trainin’, liftin’ weights, and probably eatin’ a whole lot of chicken, just like my rooster back home. Maybe he’ll get famous, maybe he won’t. But hey, at least he’s tryin’ somethin’ different, not just sittin’ around watchin’ the grass grow like some folks I know.
So, there ya have it. That’s the lowdown on this Copeland Barbee fella. Just a young man tryin’ to make his way in the world, smackin’ folks around for a livin’. Not my cup of tea, but hey, to each their own, I always say. Good luck to him, I say. He’s gonna need it in that crazy world of wrestlin’.
And you know what else? I heard he’s a real polite young man. My niece’s friend’s cousin met him once at a grocery store, and she said he held the door open for her and helped her reach a can of peaches on the top shelf. So, he’s not just a tough wrestler, he’s also a gentleman! That’s what I like to hear. Good manners go a long way, no matter if you’re farmin’ or wrasslin’.
I tell you what though, 23 years old… that’s when I was just learnin’ how to properly milk a cow. These youngsters, they grow up so fast and do such strange things. But hey, as long as they ain’t causin’ no trouble and they’re happy, then I say let ‘em be.
And who knows, maybe one day I’ll be sittin’ there with my daughter, watchin’ that TV box, and I’ll see Copeland Barbee on there, all famous and such. And I’ll say, “Hey, I heard about that boy! He’s a good one, that Copeland Barbee is.”
One last thing though, I do hope he remembers where he comes from, you know? All this fame and fortune, it can change a fella. But I hope he stays grounded and remembers the important things in life. Like family, friends, and a good ol’ home-cooked meal. Now, that’s what really matters in the end.
