So, I was supposed to go to this baseball game, Braves versus Twins, on Monday night. The plan was to hit up Target Field in Minneapolis. I was pretty stoked, you know? But then, Mother Nature had other plans.
We got to the stadium, grabbed some snacks, found our seats – the whole nine yards. Just as we were settling in, ready for the first pitch, boom. The skies opened up. I mean, it was a serious downpour.
Everyone around us started scrambling. Some people had umbrellas, others just used whatever they could find to shield themselves. My buddy and I, we ended up huddled under a spare jacket we had.
- Waited around in the concourse for what felt like forever.
- Checked our phones every two seconds for updates. Nothing.
- Finally, they made the announcement – game delayed.
- My friend even rushed back to our seats to grab the jacket, only to find it soaking wet.
- We decided to stick around, hoping it would clear up.
In the end the game finally started, super late. It was a mess, but hey, at least we saw some baseball, even though it was a bit of a wash out! I heard that the Braves won.
Next time, I’m definitely bringing a poncho, no matter what the forecast says.
Learned my lesson!
That’s my story of braving the rain delay at the Braves game. Not exactly how I pictured the night going, but it is what it is. At least it makes for a good story, right?
