Okay, so I saw this Brandon Neely kid got drafted by the Red Sox, and I was like, “Who?” Never heard of him. Turns out he was picked 86th overall in the third round of the 2024 MLB draft. I found that the Red Sox picked some guy named Payton Tolle before they selected Neely in the draft, but that’s not important right now. I’m focusing on Neely.
So, I did what any normal person would do – I dug around to learn more about him.
- First, I found that he’s a right-handed pitcher from Florida. Good to know.
- Then I saw he’s the 222nd player to be drafted from his college, apparently, which is… a lot, I guess?
- I also learned that Neely was waiting for the news when the draft started on Monday, and his future took shape.
After that, I found that Neely played for the Florida Gators baseball team. He is set to begin his professional career with the Red Sox. I guess that’s a big deal for him.
Anyway, that’s pretty much all I could find out about this Brandon Neely guy. He’s a pitcher, he went to Florida, and now he’s going to be playing for the Red Sox. I guess we’ll see how he does!
