Today, I tried to make a dish called “Bo Nix Mom”. It’s quite a funny name, right? I saw it on the internet and got curious. So I thought, why not give it a shot?
First, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I went to the grocery store and picked up some chicken, a bunch of veggies like carrots, potatoes, and onions. Oh, and some spices too. I made sure I had everything listed in the recipe I found. It was a bit of a shopping spree, but I managed to get it all.
Getting Started
Back home, I started by chopping up all the vegetables. I cut the carrots into small circles, diced the potatoes, and sliced the onions. It was a lot of chopping, and my eyes started to water a bit from the onions, but I pushed through.
Next, I seasoned the chicken. I sprinkled some salt, pepper, and a few other spices that I thought would go well together. I rubbed the spices all over the chicken to make sure it was evenly coated. This part was pretty fun, getting my hands a little dirty.
The Cooking Process
Then, I heated up some oil in a big pot. Once it was hot, I placed the chicken in the pot and browned it on all sides. I wanted to make sure it had a nice color before adding anything else. After the chicken was nicely browned, I took it out of the pot and set it aside.
In the same pot, I threw in all the chopped veggies. I stirred them around, letting them cook until they were a bit soft. This took a little while, but the smell was already pretty good, so I knew I was on the right track.
After the veggies were cooked a bit, I added the chicken back into the pot. I poured in some water and added a few more spices. Then, I covered the pot and let it simmer on low heat. I had to wait for a while for everything to cook properly. It was tough, but I stayed patient.
Almost There
While the pot was simmering, I checked on it every now and then. I wanted to make sure nothing was burning or sticking to the bottom. I stirred it a few times and added a bit more water when it looked like it was needed. It was a bit of a waiting game, but I kept myself busy by cleaning up the kitchen a little.
Finally, after what felt like forever, it was done! I turned off the heat and let it cool down for a few minutes. The smell was amazing, and I couldn’t wait to try it.
Tasting Time
I scooped some onto a plate and took a bite. It was delicious! The chicken was tender, and the veggies were perfectly cooked. All the flavors blended together really well. I was pretty proud of myself for pulling it off. I even made a little extra and saved it for later.
