Okay, so I was messing around in Baldur’s Gate 3, and I finally got to this Bernard guy in the Arcane Tower. I’d heard about him, seen some stuff online, but I wanted to figure it out myself, you know?

First, I explored the tower. I climbed up all the floors, poked around in every dusty corner, and read every single book and scroll I could find. There were some hints, like lines in plays and poems scattered around. It was kind of annoying, to be honest, piecing it all together.
Then I talked to Bernard. He’s this construct, a magical robot dude, and he just stands there until you give him the right command. He’s a bit of a drama queen in the way he talks. It took a few tries, I just throwing words at him at the beginning, haha.
I went back to the books and notes. I started to see a pattern. It was like, lines from different things, but they all fit together in a conversation. So, I picked one line that seemed like a good starting point, something about “the smallest hope is enough.”
- I selected that line in the dialogue options when talking to Bernard.
- He responded! It’s so exciting!.
- I kept going, picking the next line that seemed to follow logically from what he said. It was like a choose-your-own-adventure book.
- Finally, I got to a line, something about “giving the light”, and Bernard gave me a ring.
My hard work paid off!
I equipped the ring, and it seemed pretty cool, it gives you a warm feeling!. I’m not sure what it does yet, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out later. I felt pretty smart figuring out that whole conversation puzzle. It was way more satisfying than just looking up the answers, even though it took me a while.
It was a good reminder that sometimes, just taking your time and exploring in these games can lead to some really cool moments.
