Okay, so I’ve been trying to get better at predicting football match outcomes. It’s tough, but I decided to focus on the Betis vs Getafe game. Here’s how I went about it, a total newbie approach, mind you.

First, I just looked at the recent performance of both teams. You know, wins, losses, draws. Betis seemed to be doing okay, a mix of results, but at home, they looked stronger. Getafe, on the other hand, felt a bit more unpredictable, struggling a bit more, especially away from home.
I looked at the past head to head games.
- Did I found any interesting patterns?
- Were the matches ususlly have goals or pretty low-scoring?
- Did one team usually dominate the other?
My “Deep Dive” (aka, a few Google searches)
I also tried to consider the team’s * loves to keep the ball, passing it around, trying to create * seemed more direct, more physical, maybe relying on counter-attacks.
Then,My friend told me “You gotta look at injuries and suspensions!” Makes sense. So, I tried to find news on which players were out for both teams. It’s hard to know for sure sometimes, but you get a general idea.
After gathering all this mess, I still felt lost. I was trying to find patterns that show me who is going to *, with their home advantage and possession-based style, seemed like a good choice and Getafe felt like underdogs.

I decided to try and predict the * felt more like a guessing game! I went with a 2-1 win for Betis. It was a good day, I was pretty close.
It’s a learning process, and I’m definitely no expert. But it was fun to try and break down the match and see if I could figure it * lots to learn!
