So, I was messing around, trying to come up with a cool name for my character in Starfield. You know, something that really screams “space explorer extraordinaire” and not just, like, “Bob.”

I figured, “Hey, there’s gotta be a name generator out there for this, right?” I mean, there’s a generator for everything these days.
The Search Begins
I fired up my browser and started searching. Typed in “Starfield name generator” and, boom, tons of results popped up. It was a little overwhelming, honestly.
I clicked on a few, and some were pretty basic. You know, the kind where you just hit a button, and it spits out a random, kinda generic name. They were okay, but nothing really grabbed me. They felt, well, generated.
Diving Deeper
Then I found one that was a bit more involved. This one let you pick different categories, like “space pirate,” “explorer,” “scientist,” stuff like that. It even had options for gender and origin, whether human or some type of alien, with their own name style.
I started playing around with the settings. I chose “explorer” and “human,” and then it gave me a bunch of different name parts to mix and match. First name, last name, even a nickname option!

Crafting the Perfect Moniker
It was actually pretty fun. I spent a good chunk of time just clicking through different combinations.
The process is as follows:
- First Name: Select a prefix (like “Astro,” “Cosmo,” “Nova”) and a suffix (like “dan,” “lia,” “ron”).
- Last Name: Combine elements related to space phenomena (like “Nebula,” “Star,” “Comet”) with more traditional surname parts.
- Nickname: Choose a cool, space-related nickname, or just use a shortened version of the first name.
There were some seriously wild names in there. Some were too out there, even for me. But I finally settled on something I liked: “Cosmo Ryder,” with the nickname “Comet.” It felt adventurous and a little bit mysterious, perfect for exploring the galaxy.
I think what I liked most about this particular generator was that it felt like I was actually creating the name, not just having it randomly assigned to me. I had some control over the process, and the end result felt more personal. Now to hop in game and use this bad boy!
