Okay, here is my blog post about the best players to never win a major:
I’ve been a golf nut for years, and I always find myself thinking about those players who were so good, but just couldn’t quite get over the hump and win a major championship. So, I started digging into it.
First, I made a list of all the golfers I could think of who were consistently in the hunt, but never won one. Then, I started watching old tournaments, and let me tell you, it was a trip down memory lane.
I focused on some specific players. I watched a bunch of old footage, read a ton of articles, and even looked at some stats, like the number of events played without a win.
My Personal Findings
- I noticed this one guy, he won four majors between 2011 and 2014, but then nothing. It was like watching a car run out of gas. I could almost feel his frustration through the screen.
- Then there were those who were always so close. They’d be right there in the final round, maybe even leading, but then something would happen. A bad bounce, a missed putt, you name it. It was like watching a movie where you know the ending is going to be sad.
- I found some players who played tons of events but never won a major. It made me wonder if it was bad luck, nerves, or maybe something else.
After all this, I put together a list of what I think are the 6 best golfers to never win a major. I thought about all the data I’d collected and watched how they played.
It wasn’t easy, and it’s just my opinion, but it was a fun project. It really makes you appreciate how hard it is to win one of those things.
