Alright, so I’ve been messing around with “MLB The Show 24” lately, specifically diving deep into editing batting stances. Let me tell you, it’s been a ride. First off, I fired up the game and headed straight to the “My Player” menu. You know, the usual spot where you tweak your player’s everything.
Once I got there, I clicked on “Appearance” and then found the “Batting Stance” tab. Now, this is where the fun begins. There are so many options it is kind of a mess! I started scrolling through all the preset stances, trying to find something that felt right. I wanted to make my player look like a total pro, ready to smack some dingers.
Here’s what I did to get my stance dialed in:
- I made sure my feet were about twice my hip width apart. It’s all about that base, you know? You gotta be stable if you want to crush the ball.
- Then, I bent my knees a bit, keeping my weight on the balls of my feet. This helps you stay ready to move, like a coiled spring.
- I also knocked my knees in a little bit. Sounds weird, but it helps create that side-to-side energy you need for a powerful swing.
After trying out a bunch of stances, I decided to get into the nitty-gritty and started editing the details. I adjusted the hand position, the foot placement, the whole nine yards. It took a while, but I finally got something that felt pretty good. I even tried to copy some of the stances of the pros, like Mike Trout. His stance is just so smooth.
Fine-Tuning
I played a few games to see how my new stance felt in action. It was pretty cool seeing my player with a unique stance, but I noticed a few things I wanted to change. So, back to the “Batting Stance” editor I went. I tweaked the hand position a bit more, moving them back and high to see if I could get more power. It definitely made my swing slower, but the extra pop was noticeable.
For those of you who want to try this out, here’s a tip: use the “Strike zone high” hitting view. It really helps you see the ball better when it’s coming out of the pitcher’s hand. And for the PCI, I found that just using the bat was the most precise. It helped me land more perfect hits. I haven’t gone through every swing type to see if there’s any better but this is the best I’ve been able to find so far.
All in all, it’s been a blast experimenting with batting stances in “MLB The Show 24”. It adds a whole new level of customization to the game, and it’s super satisfying to see your player perform with a stance you’ve perfected. Give it a try and see what you can come up with!
