Okay, so today I wanted to talk about something fun that I’ve been messing around with – fantasy football team names, specifically for the Bengals. I’m a huge Bengals fan, have been ever since I was a kid, and this year I wanted to get a little more creative with my fantasy team name. I mean, “Mike’s Team” just doesn’t cut it, right? It’s gotta have some personality!
So, I started by looking up a bit of Bengals history, just to get the creative juices flowing. I found out that the Bengals actually started back in 1968, and it took a few years of work by this guy, Paul Brown, to get them going. That’s some dedication! Anyway, I wasn’t really planning on naming my team after the founder or anything, but it’s always cool to know where your team came from.
Next, I started thinking about the current players. We’ve got some real stars on the team this year, and I thought it would be fun to try and incorporate one of their names into my team name. I wanted something that was more than just their name, though. Like, I wanted a pun or some kind of wordplay, you know?
I started jotting down some ideas. Here’s what I came up with:
- Natural Born Kylers (Okay, this one isn’t related to the Bengals, I’ll admit that, but it just popped into my head and made me laugh, so it’s a good example of the vibe I’m going for.)
- Here’s to you, Bijan Robinson (Another non-Bengals example, I was still brainstorming at this point, but you see how it plays on that Simon and Garfunkel song? That’s the kind of thing I like.)
- Better Call Hall (Another generic example, but I think it’s pretty solid.)
- Shake it Goff (Okay, this one is related to the Lions, but it’s a fun one!)
After coming up with these examples, I realized I wasn’t quite hitting the mark with the Bengals theme. So, I dove into the current roster. I wanted to find something that was both catchy and showed off my Bengals pride. I spent a good hour just brainstorming and writing down anything that came to mind, no matter how silly it sounded. I even asked my buddies for some help, and they came up with some pretty good ones, too.
The Result
Finally, after all that brainstorming, I think I’ve come up with a few that I’m really happy with. I haven’t decided on just one yet, but these are the top contenders. I’m really into them, and I think they really capture what I was going for. It was a lot of fun going through this process, and it got me even more excited for the football season. Now, all I have to do is pick the best one, and then maybe I’ll finally win my fantasy league this year! Who Dey!
