Okay, let’s talk about these belfries I kept stumbling upon. When I first started out, I saw these tall structures marked on the map, and honestly, I wasn’t sure what their deal was.

My First Encounter
So, the first thing I did was just pick one, the closest one I could spot, and started making my way over there. Took a bit of swinging and climbing, you know how it is. When I finally got to the top, there was this console thing, looked like something I could interact with. I went ahead and used it.
What happened next? Well, a couple of things. First, the map around that area cleared up a bit. You know, the foggy parts? Some of that disappeared, and I could see the streets and points of interest more clearly. That was handy.
Figuring Out More
Then I noticed something else. After activating that first belfry, when I looked at the main map screen, that belfry icon had changed slightly. Hovered over it, and boom, fast travel option. That was the big one for me. Realized these things were my ticket to getting around the city quicker once I’d actually visited them on foot (or, well, grapple hook).
So, I made it a point to start hitting up other belfries whenever I was in a new part of town. Seemed like a good strategy. Go there the first time, activate it, and then I could just zap back there whenever I needed.
I also noticed that activating some belfries seemed to unlock little side activities or reveal nearby collectibles on the map too. It wasn’t super consistent, or maybe I just didn’t pay close enough attention every single time, but it definitely felt like activating them did more than just open up fast travel.

So, What’s the Bottom Line?
Based on my running around and activating a bunch of these things, here’s what I figured out they generally do:
- Fast Travel Points: This is the main thing, I reckon. Activate a belfry, and you can fast travel back to it later. Super useful for cutting down travel time.
- Map Reveal: They clear the “fog of war” on your map in the surrounding area. Helps you see what’s actually around you, layout of the streets, buildings, etc.
- Unlock Local Stuff: Seems like they sometimes reveal nearby activities, maybe small challenges or points of interest that weren’t visible before.
It wasn’t like there was a big sign explaining it all. I just had to get out there, climb up a few of them, push the button, and see what happened. Trial and error, basically. But yeah, activating them is definitely worth the effort, especially for that fast travel capability. Makes navigating the whole place way less of a headache.
