Okay, so I’ve been trying to get a handle on the whole Army football team situation, and let me tell you, figuring out their depth chart is no walk in the park. It’s like trying to assemble a puzzle without all the pieces.

First, I scoured the internet. I mean, I went deep. I figured the official Army sports website would have something concrete, but it was surprisingly vague. Lots of player profiles, sure, but nothing that clearly laid out who’s starting, who’s second string, who’s warming the bench.
Then, I hit up some fan forums. You know, the places where the die-hards hang out. I thought, “These guys must know what’s going on.” And, well, I got a lot of opinions. A LOT. Everyone had their own idea of who should be where, but it was mostly speculation and wishful thinking.
Digging Through the Weeds
I started compiling everything I could find. Player stats, recent game reports, even some social media posts (yeah, I went there). I created this massive spreadsheet, trying to cross-reference everything. It was messy, let me tell you. Like, really messy.
The quarterback situation was, the first things, I focused on. I listed out all of candidates, Trying to make sense.
- somebody…
- somebody…
- somebody…
After hours of staring at this thing, I started to see some patterns. Certain players consistently mentioned together, some getting more playing time than others. It wasn’t perfect, but it was something.

I am not claiming to have cracked the code completely. The coaches keep things pretty close to the vest, and injuries and performance changes can shift things around quickly. But I feel like I have a slightly better understanding now.I built my intuitive depth chart finally.
It’s definitely a work in progress, though. I’ll keep updating my spreadsheet as the season goes on, trying to stay on top of it. This whole process has been a reminder that sometimes, you just gotta roll up your sleeves and dig in to find what you’re looking for. Even if it means getting a little lost in the weeds along the way!
