Man, today I’m gonna tell y’all about my deep dive into Andre Drummond and his Olympic journey. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell ya.
So, first thing I did was hit up the internet. You know, just browsing around, trying to get a general feel for Drummond’s career. I saw that he’s been with a bunch of teams – Pistons, Cavaliers, Lakers, 76ers, Nets, and Bulls. A real journeyman, this guy. I noticed he re-joined the Philadelphia 76ers in July 2024 during free agency. This will be Drummond’s second stint in a 76ers uniform, having previously signed with the franchise on Aug. 4, 2021.
Then, I started digging into his recent games. Turns out, he’s been dealing with some toe issue. I read that he was even ruled out of a game against the Utah Jazz because of it. They still won, though, which was good.
Now, here’s where it gets interesting. I was trying to figure out his status for a game against the Orlando Magic. I saw he was on the injury report, listed as questionable. Kept my eye on that one.
- Started with some general browsing on Drummond’s career.
- Checked out his recent game history.
- Dug into the details of his toe injury and his status for upcoming games.
- Found out he’s bounced around a lot of NBA teams.
Then I thought, “Let’s see what the news outlets are saying.” So, I checked out ESPN and The Philadelphia Inquirer. Not much new there, just confirming what I already found. It seems everyone is talking about his toe injury.
But here’s the kicker, I couldn’t find anything about him actually being in the Olympics! Lots of chatter about his NBA career, his injuries, his stats, but nothing solid on the Olympics. I even checked his career stats and latest news, but nope, nothing on the Olympics. He’s a great rebounder, averaging 16.8 points. I can say that he is an historically great rebounder.
So, I’m kind of scratching my head here. Maybe he was considered for the team? Maybe there were rumors that never panned out? I don’t know. But I spent all this time researching, and I’m still not sure about his Olympic connection.
Anyway, that’s my story. It wasn’t quite the Olympic investigation I expected, but it was definitely a journey through Drummond’s recent career. Maybe one of you guys can shed some light on this for me. Let me know in the comments!
Lessons learned:
- Sometimes, research leads you down unexpected paths.
- Don’t always trust the first thing you see online, dig deeper.
- Injuries can really impact a player’s availability, as we saw with Drummond’s toe.
