Hey everyone, so I’ve been really digging into Animal Crossing: New Horizons lately, and like everyone else, I got super curious about which villagers are the best. I mean, we all have our favorites, right? So I decided to make my own tier list for 2023, and let me tell you, it was a journey!
My Journey Begins
First off, I started by just playing the game – a lot. I wanted to meet as many villagers as possible and see how they vibe with me. I chatted with them, did them favors, and even tried to annoy a few (sorry, not sorry). I noticed some were super sweet, some were kinda boring, and some were just plain… extra. Like, I encountered this one smug villager, Chadder, and let me just say, his attitude and looks weren’t doing it for me. I think I read somewhere that smug villagers are often considered some of the worst because they come across as all high and mighty.
Ranking and Research
After a while, I started making notes. I jotted down their personalities, how often they gave me cool stuff, and just a general feeling of how much I enjoyed having them around. Then I went online and started checking out what other people were saying about villagers, I saw that some people think that Merengue, Beau, and Kiki are some of the best. I guess I agreed since I met them and they were amazing!
Compiling the List
With my notes and some internet opinions in hand, I started sorting the villagers into tiers. It wasn’t easy! There are over 70 normal villagers in New Horizons alone, so you can imagine how many there are in total! I spent hours debating where to put everyone. Some were obvious – like, I knew right away who my top-tier villagers were – but others were trickier.
- Tier S: The absolute best, of course. The villagers I’d do anything for.
- Tier A: Amazing villagers that almost make the top cut, I really liked these.
- Tier B: Pretty good, solid villagers. I’m happy when I see them around.
- Tier C: They’re… fine. Not bad, not great.
- Tier D: Honestly, I’d rather not have them on my island.
The Final Tier List
Finally, after days of playing, researching, and a whole lot of thinking, I finished my tier list! It was a relief to have it done, but also kind of sad because it felt like saying goodbye to some of the villagers (even the ones I didn’t like, haha). I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, but I’m sure people will disagree with me – and that’s okay! Everyone has different tastes. This tier list was just for fun, and a way to document my experience with all these virtual animal friends.
So yeah, that’s the story of how I made my ACNH villager tier list for 2023. It was a fun, sometimes frustrating, but ultimately rewarding experience. If you’re thinking about making your own tier list, I say go for it! It’s a great way to get to know the villagers better and figure out who you truly vibe with. Just be prepared to spend a lot of time playing – but hey, that’s not really a bad thing, is it?
