It’s like his public persona is this perfectly polished, non-controversial, all-American baseball hero. And that’s fine, I guess, but it’s also kinda strange, right?
Then, the plot thickened a bit. I stumbled upon something about his charitable foundation. Apparently, the foundation’s spokesperson made it clear that “Derek does not endorse any political candidates.” Okay, fair enough. It makes sense. You don’t want to alienate half your fans by taking a political stance. But still, it’s interesting how careful he is about this stuff.

- Then, I found that he was named on 99.7% of the ballots. Impressive, no doubt, but still nothing juicy about his political views.
- Then, I even tried to find some news from “The Hill” about him, thinking maybe there’s some insider info there, but nope. Nothing substantial.
It’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack, except the needle is probably invisible. I thought maybe I am just nosy, you know? But hey, when a public figure, especially someone as big as Derek Jeter, is this tight-lipped about their beliefs, it makes you wonder. Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for now.
