Today, I decided to dive into the news and updates about Barry University. It’s something I’ve been meaning to do for a while, and today just felt like the right day.
First, I started by reading through the most popular majors at Barry University. It turns out that Health Professions and Related Programs are really big there. Also, Business, Management, and Marketing are quite popular, too. It’s always interesting to see what fields are drawing students in.
Then, I dug a bit deeper into the university’s background. Barry University is a Catholic, coeducational institution. It was founded in 1940 and is sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Adrian, Michigan. I found out that Barry University has a pretty rich history, which was cool to learn about.
After that, I moved on to check out their student media. The Buccaneer is their campus newspaper, and it’s part of the integrated student media under the Department of Communication. I browsed through some articles, and it gave me a good sense of what’s happening on campus.
I also looked into their academic programs. They offer various Undergraduate Programs, including Emergency Management and Public Administration for adult learners. It seems like they have a decent range of options for both traditional and non-traditional students. I looked up the university’s financial aid and social mobility ratings. Apparently, Barry University is pretty good at awarding financial aid packages and creating opportunities for social mobility. They’re also one of the leading universities in minority representation.
I spent some time reading about their core commitments. The contents of their magazine are selected to reflect these commitments and show the range of great work happening on campus and in the community. They’ve been dealing with food insecurity issues, which have gotten worse because of the pandemic.
Lastly, I joined a new organization’s page to read news posts. I saw one talking about welcoming students from diverse backgrounds. They seem pretty excited about the diversity of their student body.
Overall, it was a productive day. I got a good overview of what Barry University is all about, from its history and academic programs to its student media and community involvement. It’s always nice to learn something new, and today was definitely one of those days.
