Okay, so I was messing around in Madden 24 the other day, trying to figure out how to showboat. You know, just adding a little extra flair to those touchdowns.
First things first, I had to actually score a touchdown. I tried different things, running the ball, passing it, whatever it took. I messed up a few times, got tackled, threw some interceptions, it happens. But I kept at it. The first few times I tried passing plays I found a cover 2 defense, I could tell from looking at the safeties in the middle of the field. Anyway, finally, I managed to break through and get into the end zone.
After a few successful touchdowns, I started experimenting. I wanted to figure out all the ways to celebrate. There’s nothing like adding insult to injury with a good taunt after scoring, right?
- The Classic Showboat: This one is the most common. I realized you just gotta hold down a few buttons while running into the end zone, and your player will do some kind of animation. It’s pretty straightforward, but I had to look it up online to figure out which buttons to press.
- The Dive: I figured out that if you hold down a different button, your player will dive into the end zone. It’s a fun way to change things up.
- Team Celebrations: Sometimes, if you get close to your teammates after scoring, you can trigger a team celebration. I managed to get a few of these to work, and it’s awesome seeing the whole squad get hyped.
I spent a good chunk of time just running plays and trying to score so I could practice these celebrations. It’s actually pretty fun to see what your player will do. I must have tried this for a good hour, just running up the score on the computer, haha.
The first few times I tried to showboat, I messed it up and either got tackled or just ran into the end zone normally. But once I got the hang of it, it was great. I was showboating after every touchdown, just because I could. If you’re playing Madden 24, you gotta try it. It’s a fun little way to add some personality to your game.
Some Extra Tips:
After messing around for a while, here’s what I found worked best for showboating:
- Don’t wait until the last second: Start the showboat a little before you reach the end zone. If you wait too long, you might get tackled or just run in normally.
- Mix it up: Don’t just do the same celebration every time. Try different button combinations and see what happens.
- Practice makes perfect: Like anything else in the game, showboating takes practice. Don’t get discouraged if you mess up a few times. Just keep trying, and you’ll get it eventually.
I made sure to practice all of this in the Ultimate Team tutorial, which, for a new player, it had 6 challenges, and after completing those challenges you get a basic roster based on your favorite team. I selected my favorite team when I started the game, so it was pretty cool to see those players on my roster.
So yeah, that’s my experience with showboating in Madden 24. It’s a small thing, but it makes the game a little more fun. Give it a try, and let me know what you think!
