Alright, so, I’ve been playing “MLB The Show” for a while now, and it’s usually a blast. But lately, I’ve been running into some seriously suspicious stuff online. It all started a couple of weeks ago when I noticed some players were just too good, you know?

So, I hopped into a ranked game, feeling pretty good, and this guy I’m up against is crushing everything.
Here’s the thing: anything I threw near the strike zone, just gone. Home runs every time. I mean, I’m not the best player in the world, but I know when something’s fishy.
This guy wasn’t even swinging at balls outside the zone. It was like he knew exactly where I was going to pitch.
I started to think, “Is this guy cheating?” I remembered reading somewhere that there’s some kind of cheat where your opponent can see your pitch location.
At first, I thought maybe I was just having a bad day. But then it happened again, and again, with different players.

So, I did some digging. I found some forum posts and stuff online where people were talking about the same thing. Turns out, there are ways to cheat in this game, and it’s not cool.
- I learned that you could report cheaters, but it’s kind of a hassle. And I’m not even sure if it does anything.
- I even found out that Sony, the company that runs the online servers, they’re the ones who are supposed to deal with this, but most major publishers run their own online servers and are responsible for policing cheaters.
- I also found that many people complain about the gameplay but the game developer seems not to tell their player base about their anti-cheat policy.
What I really did: I tried reporting a couple of these players, but honestly, I don’t know if it made a difference. I also tried changing up my pitching style, throwing more balls, trying to be unpredictable. But it didn’t seem to help much against these cheaters.
My conclusion:
It’s frustrating, man. Cheating ruins the game for everyone. It takes the fun out of the competition. I just want to play a fair game, you know?
I just wish there was a better way to deal with this. Maybe a stronger anti-cheat system, or something. Accusations of hacking often reflect deeper psychological processes, including envy, cognitive *, I’m still playing, but I’m definitely more cautious now. And I’m keeping an eye out for any more suspicious activity.
It’s a shame that people have to cheat to win. It’s just a game, after all.
