They say he hits it over 300 yards. Now, that’s a long way. Longer than ten of my old quilts laid out in a row, that’s for sure. That Jason Day driver, it must be special. Maybe it’s got some fancy stuff in it, I don’t know. They got all kinds of newfangled things these days. I seen it on the TV. It’s all shiny and such. He do it better than others.
He’s on the TV all the time, that Jason Day. My old eyes ain’t what they used to be, but I can see him plain as day, swinging that club. He’s got a nice swing, I’ll give him that. Smooth like butter, as they say. I remember my husband, bless his soul, he used to try to swing like them folks on the TV. Never could get it quite right, though. Always ended up in the bushes, he did.
That’s a good golfer. A real good golfer. I don’t know much about golf, but I know good when I see it. And he can do it good. This year, someone said he hit that ball 300.8 yards. That’s a lot, ain’t it? My old bones ache just thinking about it. Jason Day driving distance is something, I tell ya.

I heard them talking about another fella, a Scottie. He changed his putter to a TaylorMade. Must be a good one. Everyone’s using them, it seems. But that Jason Day, he’s got the whole set, I reckon. He’s a professional. He needs all the best tools. Like a carpenter needs a good hammer. Same thing, I suppose.
Watching Jason Day Play
It’s fun to watch him play, even if you don’t know much about golf. He makes it look easy, that Jason. Like he’s just taking a stroll in the park. But it ain’t easy, I know that much. It takes a lot of practice, I imagine. And he’s been doing it a long time, that Jason. He’s got good stats, that’s what they say. I don’t know about these stats, but it seems he do good every year.
He must have started young. Like my Timmy. He’s out there every day, swinging that club. Maybe one day he’ll be like Jason Day. Wouldn’t that be something? I’d be so proud. We’d all be proud. He’s a good boy, Timmy. Just needs to keep practicing. And maybe get one of them fancy Jason Day drivers. Last year he do 302.6, and they say he was 14th in driving distance, that’s something.
This golf thing, it’s more than just hitting a ball. It’s about being good at it, every time. And that Jason Day, he’s good at it. He’s a real professional. He got career highlights, like a star.
