This year, that football thing, the UNT football, they gonna play again. Heard they got some new fellas, some old ones gone. That paper, you know, the one they call the depth chart, shows who’s gonna play where. My grandson, he’s crazy about it, always yapping about UNT football depth chart.
They play that South Alabama first, I think it’s August 31st, end of the summer. They got this depth chart thing out now, five days before, so folks know who’s who. Important stuff, I guess, for them that follows it real close.
Who’s Playing Where?
That depth chart, it’s like a list. You got your starters, them’s the ones playing the most, I reckon. Then you got the others, the backups, waiting their turn. Like a pecking order, just like chickens in the yard. This year, 2024, they call it.
They got that offense side and that defense side. Offense, that’s when you try to get the ball down the field, score them points. Defense, that’s when you try to stop ’em. And sometimes, they get letters next to their names. “Q” means they might not play, “D” means it’s not looking good, and “O” means they’re out for sure. All because they’re hurt, poor things.

Looking Ahead to the Season

My grandson, he’s got it all figured out. He studies that depth chart like it’s the Bible. He thinks he knows who’s gonna be the star, who’s gonna ride the bench. Kids these days, they got it all figured out, don’t they?
Me, I just like watching the game. Don’t matter to me who’s playing where, as long as they put on a good show. But this UNT football depth chart, it’s a big deal to a lot of folks. So, there you have it. Everything I know about that darn paper. If you like that sort of stuff, I guess it is kind of interesting.
