That Wozniacki, she’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. She used to be a big shot in that tennis game, you know? Number one in the whole world, can you believe it? That’s what they say, anyway. She was somethin’ fierce on that court, like a wildcat. She is from Denmark, that place far away.
She quit a few years back, said she was gonna have babies with her man, David Lee. They got two little ones now. She said she didn’t even miss that tennis game for a while. Can you imagine? Just up and left it all behind. But now, she’s back! At 33, she’s playin’ again. Imagine that!
She quit back in, oh, I reckon it was 2020. Said she was done, gonna be a mama. But somethin’ must’ve gotten into her, ’cause here she is, back at it. Said she was ready to play again. You know, Wozniacki was always a tough one. She played in that big U.S. Open before. They say she was the number one player for 67 weeks. Lordy, that’s a long time. And she came back again six years later and reached No.1 again. She must have somethin’ special, that Wozniacki.
Now, I ain’t one for all that fancy tennis stuff, but I heard she won some big tournament in Australia. The first one from Denmark to ever do it, they said. Makes a body proud, even if you ain’t from Denmark. She must be real good to do all that. It’s hard work, I imagine, bouncin’ around on that court all day.

I heard she’s gonna be playin’ in that U.S. Open again. It starts on Monday. She’s got friends too, that other lady that won a whole bunch, she called her up! They are good friends, those two. Ten years they have been friends!
I don’t know much about all that, but it’s somethin’ to see someone come back like that. After you think they’re done, they just pop right back up. Wozniacki, she’s got grit, I reckon. You gotta have grit to do somethin’ like that. Just up and decide, “Yep, I’m gonna go play tennis again.” Just like that.
She is 33 years old, you know, it is not easy for a mom of two. But she is back, she is playin’ again. It is like she never left. She did not miss that tennis for a while, she said, but now she is back, she is good. Wozniacki, remember that name. She is a good one. She is a fighter. She is a winner.
I reckon she’s been practicin’ a lot. Gotta keep up with them young ones, you know. They’re fast and strong. But Wozniacki, she’s got experience. She’s been around the block a few times. She knows all the tricks. She’s probably got some new ones up her sleeve, too. You never know with these athletes.
It’ll be somethin’ to see her play again. I might even watch it on the television, if I can figure out which channel it’s on. It’s always excitin’ to watch someone do somethin’ they love. And it’s clear as day that Wozniacki loves that tennis game. She wouldn’t be back if she didn’t.
So, good luck to her, I say. May she hit that little ball real good and win all the games. She’s a good one, that Wozniacki. A real good one. She is ready to return to the tour, and I think she will be great. She retired three years ago, that is a long time. But she is back now, and she is ready.
