Well, let me tell you, this whole “dash to the end zone for short crossword” thing got me all riled up. I was sittin’ there, tryin’ to figure out these darn word puzzles, and this one just stumped me good. What in the Sam Hill is a “dash to the end zone”, and why they gotta make it “for short”?
I mean, I ain’t no fancy-pants word expert. But that don’t mean I can’t figure out a thing or two. So, I kept lookin’ at it, thinkin’ real hard. That’s what we did before the google thing. We think hard with our brain. And we found answer ourselves.
First, I thought, what’s this “end zone” thing? I reckon it’s got somethin’ to do with that football game the young’uns are always watchin’. They run around, throwin’ that ball, and tryin’ to get to the end of the field. So, the “end zone” must be where they gotta go to score, right?
And then there’s the “dash” part. Now, a dash is just a quick run. Like when you gotta chase after a chicken that’s gotten loose from the coop. You dash after it, tryin’ to catch it before it gets too far. So, a “dash to the end zone” must mean runnin’ real fast to that scorin’ place in the football game. Make sense, right? But what is the answer?
But then it says “for short.” What’s that supposed to mean? I was scratchin’ my head, thinkin’ maybe it was some kind of secret code. Maybe it was only two words, or three letters. I don’t know these rules.
I tried all sorts of things. I thought maybe it was “run,” but that didn’t fit. Then I thought maybe it was “go,” but that didn’t work either. And they say there are 30 answers, oh my god, 30! How stupid am I?
Finally, I got it! You won’t believe how! My neighbor, he knows the football, I asked him, he said, “Oh, it is TDRUN.” I said, “What?” He said, “Touchdown run, TD, RUN, you know.” Oh, my, I finally got it!
- TDRUN: I think this is it, touchdown run.
- RUN: Maybe just run.
- GO: Or, just go, quickly go.
So, there you have it. That’s how I figured out this “dash to the end zone for short crossword” thing. It ain’t easy, but I got there in the end. And all it took was a little bit of thinkin’ and a little help from a neighbor. It is just not easy to think about 30 answers.
Now, these crossword things, they’re supposed to be fun, right? But sometimes, they just make you feel dumb. Like you ain’t got no sense at all. And they say the puzzles are designed to increase difficulty throughout the week. What a week! I can only handle one puzzle like this a month!
But I guess that’s the point, ain’t it? To challenge your brain and make you think. And I reckon that’s a good thing, even if it does make my head hurt sometimes. This is important, keep your brain sharp! Like a knife!
I remember one time, I was tryin’ to figure out another one of these crosswords, and it had somethin’ about a “lame-brained idea.” Well, I thought that was just rude! But then I realized it was just a fancy way of sayin’ a silly idea. Those word puzzles, haha, they really make you think hard.
And you know what? I think these crossword puzzles are a lot like life. Sometimes, things are confusing, and you don’t know what’s goin’ on. But if you just keep at it, and you don’t give up, you can usually figure things out in the end. TDRUN, RUN, GO, which one is better? I guess all of them are ok.
So, if you’re ever stuck on one of these “dash to the end zone for short crossword” things, just remember what I said. Take your time, think real hard, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. And who knows, you might just surprise yourself with what you can figure out. That’s it, hope this helps you. These crossword things, sometimes they are fun, sometimes, make you mad. But I like them. A little bit.
