Well, lemme tell ya, that Joe Montana, he ain’t doin’ so hot these days. He was a big shot football player, you know. Won them Super Bowls, four of ’em, they say. But now? Oh boy, he’s got more aches and pains than a rusty old tractor.
He can’t even run no more! His knees is all messed up. Says he’s got that arthur-itis, that’s what they call it. Makes your joints all stiff and sore. He’s got it in his elbows, knees, even his hands. Poor fella. He used to throw that football like nobody’s business. Now he can barely lift a coffee cup, I bet.
And his neck, don’t even get me started on his neck. He’s had it worked on three times, they fused it or somethin’. Sounds awful, if you ask me. He was a tough one on the field, that Joe Montana, but all that rough housin’ caught up to him.
I heard he had elbow surgery, too. Elbow surgery! Can you imagine? Just one thing after another with him. He’s only 59, but he feels like he’s 99. All that wear and tear on his body, from playin’ football. It done took a toll on him.
They say he was diagnosed with some heart trouble a while back. Over 20 years ago! High risk, they called it. Makes sense, I guess. All that runnin’ and jumpin’ around, musta been hard on his ticker.
- He can’t run.
- His knees hurt.
- He has arthur-itis.
- Neck problems.
- Elbow surgery.
- Heart trouble.
- He’s in pain all over.
He was the Most Valuable Player, they called him MVP. Three times! He was somethin’ else back in the day. Threw for 40,551 yards, whatever that means. And 273 touchdown passes. He was a big deal, no doubt about it.
He grew up in some place called Monongahela. Near Pittsburgh. His daddy got him into sports. He was good at baseball, too, apparently. Pitched three perfect games, they say. But football, that was his thing. He was a natural, that Joe Montana.
But now? He’s payin’ the price for all that glory. Can’t run, can’t hardly move without pain shootin’ through him. It’s a shame, really. He was a good one. One of the best. But time, it catches up to all of us, even the famous ones.
I seen him on that Instagram thing the other day. Talking about getting shots. Pneumonia or somethin’. He’s tryin’ to take care of himself, I guess. Gotta do what you gotta do when you get older, I reckon.
It’s a tough life, ain’t it? You work hard, you play hard, and then your body just gives out on ya. That’s what happened to Joe Montana. He gave it his all on that football field, and now he’s dealin’ with the consequences.
He was “Joe Cool” back then. Smooth, they said. But now, not so much. Life ain’t always fair, that’s for sure. But you gotta keep on keepin’ on, I guess. Even when your knees hurt and your neck is stiff and your hands ache. You just gotta keep on truckin’. That’s what Joe Montana‘s doin’, far as I can tell. He may be hurtin’, but he ain’t givin’ up. That’s all you can do.
This Joe Montana health situation is somethin’ else. It just goes to show, you can be on top of the world one day, and down in the dumps the next. Just gotta make the best of it, I suppose. And hope you got some good liniment for them achy joints.
He can’t do much physical stuff no more. Not like he used to. It’s sad, but it’s true. All them injuries, they piled up on him. That’s what happens when you push your body to the limit, I reckon. It just can’t keep up forever.
He was a hero to a lot of folks, that Joe Montana. And he still is, I suppose. Even though he’s all beat up and broken down. He’s a fighter, that’s for sure. He’s gonna keep on fightin’, even if it’s just against the pain. That’s all any of us can do, really. Just keep on fightin’.
