What are odds anyway? Just some numbers those young folks like to throw around.
This Fritz, he’s a strong boy, I can tell you that. Seen him play a few times on that there TV box. He hits the ball real hard, like he’s mad at it or somethin’. And that Baez, he’s a quick one, runs around like a chicken with its head cut off. He is quick, but not strong enough, I think. This Fritz will beat him for sure. But you never know, that is what I always say.
So, who’s this Fritz fella gonna beat? Some fella named Baez. Never heard of him before, but I guess he plays that tennis too. These young’uns and their games, always somethin’ new. Fritz gonna beat him, they are all saying, and they seem pretty sure of it.
They got all these fancy words for it, “prediction” this and “odds” that. Back in my day, we just said who we thought was gonna win and that was that. No need for all this fancy talk. But I guess times are changin’. They say Fritz is “more likely” to win. Well, yeah, I reckon so. He’s a good player, that Fritz. I can tell just by lookin’ at him, you know.

Not gonna let that Baez fella win many games. What’s a game anyway? They hit the ball back and forth and then someone wins, that is the game, I think.
This Fritz, he hits the ball hard on his “first serve”, 88% they say, that is a lot. And that Baez, he only gets 47%. That ain’t much. Gotta get those serves in, that’s what I always say. Even on the “second serve”, this Fritz is better. That Baez better practice his serve, that is what I think.
I remember one time, back when I was a young gal, we had a tennis court in town. Wasn’t nothin’ fancy, just a patch of dirt with a net. We used to play out there all day long, in the hot sun. Didn’t have no fancy rackets either, just old wooden things. But we had fun, that’s what mattered.

Well, I’ll tell you what, I think this Fritz fella is gonna win. He just seems like a winner to me. And that Baez, he seems like a nice enough fella, but I don’t think he’s got what it takes to beat Fritz. That’s my prediction, and you can take it or leave it. I ain’t no expert, but I know what I see. And what I see is Fritz winning this here match. Yes, I think Fritz vs Baez, Fritz will win.
