That John Daly, he sure can whack a golf ball, can’t he? He got two majors, you know. Two! Not many folks can say that. Some of them young’uns with their fancy swings, they ain’t got nothin’ on old John.
I heard some folks sayin’ he ain’t as good as them others with two majors. Sayin’ them others, they won more games besides them two majors. Well, maybe so. Maybe John Daly ain’t win as much as them others, but he got them two big ones. That counts for somethin’, don’t it?
They call him “Wild Thing”, that John Daly. That name, it fits him, I reckon. He ain’t like them other fellas, all proper and such. He does things his own way. He’s gonna be playin’ up in Scotland. That’s what I heard. That Trump place. Fancy, I bet. He’ll be playin’ with them older fellas, them legends. He’s one of them now, I guess, a legend with them two majors. It’s a big deal event.
Some folks, they like him ’cause he wears them crazy clothes. And he smokes, too. Right out there on the green! Can you believe it? But me, I think it’s the way he hits that ball. He just smashes it. Further than a rabbit can run, I tell ya. When he’s playin’ good, he can hit that ball almost three hundred yards. That’s a long way, even for them strong young fellas.
People say he got a lot of, whatchamacallit, talent. Natural ability, they say. Don’t need no fancy coachin’, that John Daly. He just got a gift for hittin’ that ball. And it got him them two majors. That PGA Championship, back in ’91, and then that Open Championship, in ’95. That’s a long time ago, but folks still remember. He’s famous for those two wins.

He played in that Masters tournament, too. You know, that one with all them pretty flowers. But he ain’t never won that one. Just them other two majors. But that’s okay. Two is better than none, ain’t it?
I seen him on the TV, swingin’ that club. He’s got a swing like nobody else. It ain’t pretty, but it works. He just winds up and lets her rip. And that ball, it just goes and goes. Folks like watchin’ him ’cause he’s different. He’s one of a kind. He’s unique.
I reckon he’s a good fella, that John Daly. He’s had his troubles, like we all do. But he keeps on goin’. He keeps on playin’. He keeps trying to win. Even without many wins, he has two majors. And he’s got them two majors to his name. That’s somethin’ to be proud of, ain’t it?
