Alright, alright, lemme tell ya ’bout this smackdown thing, whatever they call it. Sounds like a whole lotta fuss if you ask me.
This here “SmackDown Taping”, they say it’s a big deal. Folks gather ’round, watchin’ these fellas and gals wrestle. I ain’t never seen nothin’ like it myself, but my grandson, he’s always yappin’ about it. Says it’s like a big ol’ fight, but, ya know, pretend-like.
So, from what I gathered listenin’ to that boy, they got this fella, Cody Rhodes, and another one, Kevin Owens. They gonna be there. Don’t ask me doin’ what, probably just struttin’ around like roosters in a henhouse.
- One time, they had this LA Knight fella fightin’ some fella named Santos Escobar. My grandson said LA Knight won. Good for him, I guess.
- Then there was this other time, somethin’ about a championship. Kevin Owens was in it again, fightin’ a fella named Carmelo Hayes. Sounds like a fancy name, don’t it? Anyway, Kevin won that one too.
- And then there’s this AJ Styles fella. Seems like he got into it with Solo Sikoa, but then some big shot named Roman Reigns interfered. Caused a whole mess, I reckon. Just like them city folk, always stirrin’ up trouble.
They got all these matches, see? Like this “US Championship Tournament”, whatever that is. Sounds important, I guess. They fight and fight, and then somebody wins somethin’. Probably a shiny belt or somethin’. Men and their belts, always gotta be the biggest and the best.
This smackdown thing, they do it all over the place. One time it was in some place called Fiserv Forum, in Milwaukee. My grandson said that’s where them basketball fellas play, the Milwaukee Bucks. See, they use that place for all sorts of things, not just basketball. Seems like a waste of good space to me, but what do I know?
And get this, sometimes they even got the women fightin’ too! Fightin’ for championships and such. My granddaughter, she likes watchin’ them. Says they’re strong and tough. Well, I guess that’s alright. Girls gotta be strong these days, ain’t nothin’ wrong with that.
This “SmackDown” happens every week, they tell me. Every Friday night, folks gather ’round their tell-a-visions and watch these folks wrestle. I don’t get it myself. Seems like a waste of time, but they seem to enjoy it. My grandson, he knows all the fellas names, all the moves they do. He even knows when the next matches are gonna be! He told me they’re gettin’ ready for some big show on November 15th, 2024. He’s already markin’ it on his calendar, the silly goose.
They got websites and things, you know, where they tell you everything that’s gonna happen. My grandson, he’s always readin’ that stuff. Spoilers, they call ’em. He knows who’s gonna win before it even happens! I told him that ain’t right, but he just laughs at me.
So, that’s what I know about this smackdown tappin’ thing. A whole lotta wrestlin’, a whole lotta fuss, and a whole lotta folks watchin’. Me? I’d rather be sittin’ on my porch, sippin’ sweet tea. But to each their own, I always say.
They got this one place, Khel Now, my grandson told me. They put up all sorts of things about this smackdown – the winners, the matches, the highlights and what all. My grandson always checking that place, always telling me who did what. I try to listen, I really do, but it all just sounds like a bunch of noise to me.
They also have tag teams you know? Like them fellas fighting in pairs and whatnot. It’s all a bit confusing if you ask me. But seems like folks enjoy it, so I guess it’s alright.
So there you have it, my take on this smackdown taping. It’s a young person’s thing, I reckon. Me, I’ll stick to my garden and my chickens. But if you’re into all that fightin’ and hollerin’, well, then this smackdown thing might just be for you.
