Alright, let’s talk about this Blake Corum fella, seems like a big deal in that football world. Heard folks talkin’ about him, so I figured I’d piece together what I could find. Now, don’t expect no fancy words from me, I just tell it like it is.
First off, this boy, Blake Corum, he went to some fancy school, St. Frances Academy, I think they called it. Played football there, real good, they say. Folks got videos and all, showin’ him runnin’ around, dodgin’ folks, scorin’ touchdowns. He was a star, I guess, even back then.
Now, after that high school thing, he went off to the University of Michigan. Big school, lots of smarty pants kids there, I reckon. But Blake, he wasn’t just there for the books. He went there to play football, and boy, did he play!
- They say he’s a runnin’ back. That means he carries the ball and tries to get past all them big fellas tryin’ to tackle him.
- He’s not a giant of a man, neither. They say he’s about 5 foot 8 inches tall and weighs somethin’ like 190 pounds. Not the biggest fella on the field, but quick as a whip, I hear.
- Folks were talkin’ ’bout how fast he was. Said he ran that 40-yard dash real quick, somethin’ like 4.4 seconds when he first got to college, and a little slower later on, around 4.53 seconds. Still fast though, faster than me runnin’ after the chickens, that’s for sure.
This boy ain’t just about football, though. He’s smart too! Got himself a 4.0 grade point average his first semester. That’s all A’s, for you city folk. And he’s studyin’ somethin’ called sports management. Guess he wants to stick around football even after he’s done playin’.
Now, they had some big games at Michigan, and Blake, he was right in the middle of it. He even became a captain, tellin’ the other fellas what to do and all that. He was doin’ so good, they called him an All-American. That’s a big deal, apparently. Means he’s one of the best college football players in the whole country.
But it ain’t all smooth sailin’ for this boy. Last year, they said he hurt his knee and missed a big game, the Big Ten Championship. That’s a real shame, nobody wants to see a good player get hurt. It makes you wonder if he’ll be okay, you know? But these young fellas, they bounce back pretty quick, most of the time.
Folks were talkin’ about him goin’ to the NFL, the big leagues, ya know? He could have gone last year, but he decided to stay at Michigan. Maybe he wanted to finish his schoolin’, or maybe he just wanted to play another year with his buddies. Who knows?
And you know what else? This Blake boy, he’s got family too. He’s the oldest of four kids, and the only boy. Got three sisters, Skye, Starr and another one they didn’t mention. Bet they’re proud of him, just like any mama would be.
So, that’s the story of Blake Corum, as best as I can tell it. A good football player, a smart fella, and a family boy. Sounds like he’s got his head on straight, and that’s more important than any football game, if you ask me.
In the end, they won a big game, 27 to 20, in overtime they say. Guess Blake did alright, and now he’s looking at the pros, so good for him! It’s all about working hard, just like tendin’ a garden, you gotta keep at it if you want to see the harvest. That’s what I always say.
