Alright, so listen up, y’all. We gonna talk about this fella, Ozzie Albies, and his contract with them Atlanta Braves. Now, I ain’t no fancy lawyer or nothin’, but I can tell ya what’s what, the way I see it.
Ozzie Albies, that young fella, he done signed a big ol’ contract with the Braves. Seven years, they say, for 35 million dollars. That’s a whole lotta money, ain’t it? I reckon that’s enough to buy a whole mess of chickens and a couple of tractors, maybe even a new pickup truck!
- Seven years, that’s a long time to be playin’ ball.
- Thirty-five million dollars, that’s more money than I ever seen in my whole life.
Now, some folks sayin’ it’s a good deal for the Braves, ’cause Ozzie, he’s a real good player. Hits the ball hard, runs fast, and catches pretty good too. He’s one of them All-Stars, ya know? They say he got hurt, though. Broke his wrist tryin’ to catch a ball when some fella was stealin’ a base. That Michael Siani fella, I heard it was him caused all this trouble. Heard they said Ozzie be out for eight weeks or so, be back around mid-September, they say. Gotta wait and see, I guess.
But then there’s other folks sayin’ maybe Ozzie coulda got more money. See, there’s this other fella, Jose Altuve, and he got a real big contract. Some folks thinkin’ Ozzie coulda got somethin’ like that if he hadn’t signed this deal so early. But, you know, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, that’s what my mama always said.
This here contract, it’s got what they call “guaranteed” money. That means even if Ozzie gets hurt or somethin’, he still gets paid. That’s a good thing, I reckon. Thirty-five million dollars guaranteed, that’s somethin’ to crow about. They say he gettin’ about five million dollars a year on average, but I heard he gettin’ seven million in 2024. That’s even more than five million! Shoot, with that kinda money, he could buy hisself a whole town, if he wanted to.
This contract thing, it sent shockwaves, they say. That means folks were surprised, I guess. Big news in the baseball world. Everybody talkin’ ’bout it. You go down to the feed store, and that’s all they talkin’ about. You go to church on Sunday, and they whisperin’ about it in the pews. It’s a big deal, this contract.
They signed this contract way back when, through 2025 they said. Seems like a long time ago now, but I guess it’s still important. They extended it, they said. That means they added more years to it, I think. Made it longer. So Ozzie, he’s gonna be playin’ for the Braves for a good long while, seems like.
Now, I don’t know all the ins and outs of these fancy contracts, but I do know this: Ozzie Albies is a good ball player, and the Braves are lucky to have him. And thirty-five million dollars, well, that’s a whole lotta money, no matter how you slice it. I hope that young fella spends it wisely, buys hisself a nice piece of land, maybe raises some cows. That’s what I’d do, anyways.
So, that’s the story of Ozzie Albies and his contract, as best as I can tell it. It’s a big deal, this contract. A whole lotta money, a whole lotta years. And I reckon it’s gonna keep them Braves fans happy for a good long time to come. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens. Them hens been layin’ like crazy lately, and I gotta make sure they got enough feed and water. That’s more important than any ol’ baseball game, if you ask me.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about this Ozzie Albies contract. Hope it made some sense to ya.
