Alright, listen up, y’all. Let me tell you ’bout this fella, Flex Kavana, or whatever they call him now. The Rock, they say. Sounds like somethin’ you find in the yard, not a person, but hey, that’s what them city folks like.
Flex Kavana, The Rock, Rocky Maivia – the man’s got more names than a stray dog has fleas. I reckon he started wrestlin’ way back in ’96. Lord, that’s a long time ago. I was still milkin’ cows back then. He wrestled by himself, they call it “singles,” and sometimes with a partner, “tag team” they say. Like a couple of mules pullin’ a plow, I guess.
He wrestled for a good while, up to 2004 or so, then took a break and came back again in 2011. Wrestled ’til 2016. That’s a lot of gruntin’ and sweatin’ in them tight pants. Don’t know how they breathe in them things.
- Started wrestlin’ March 10th, 1996. That’s what they told me. Remember that date, if you care.
- Wrestled alone and with a partner. Like I said, singles and tag team. Keeps things lively, I s’pose.
- Was gone for a bit, then came back. Probably needed a nap, all that jumpin’ around.
Now, some folks say he’s one of the best ever. One of the most popular, too. They say he could talk real good on that microphone. “Micworker,” they call it. Sound like somethin’ a factory worker does, but I guess it means he can yap a lot and make people listen.
They even say this Rock fella went from wrestlin’ to bein’ somethin’ else. Like a movie star, or somethin’. Imagine that, beatin’ folks up one day, then prancin’ around on a big screen the next. City folks are strange.
I saw a picture of him once. Big fella, muscles all bulgin’ out. Looked like he could pull a tractor outta a ditch with his bare hands. Someone asked if he still wrestles. I dunno. Probably too busy makin’ movies and countin’ his money. Good for him, I guess. Better than haulin’ hay all day, that’s for sure.
This Rock fella, he’s got ties to Memphis, they say. Started wrestlin’ there, on some TV show. His daddy wrestled there too. Rocky Johnson, they called him. Guess wrestlin’ runs in the family, like bad knees and stubbornness.
And somethin’ big happened one night. This Rock fella came back, along with a bunch of other wrestlers. Folks were cheerin’ and hollerin’. Sounded like a barn full of chickens when a fox gets in. They say wrestlin’ is back, whatever that means. Never knew it went anywhere.
So that’s the story of Flex Kavana, or The Rock, or whatever you wanna call him. He wrestled, he talked, he made movies, and he came back. Seems like he’s done it all. Me? I just milk cows and make sure the chickens lay their eggs. But hey, someone’s gotta keep the world runnin’, right?
He was born May 2, 1972, his name is Dwayne Douglas Johnson. And folks say even when he was playin’ the bad guy, they still cheered for him. Must be somethin’ special ’bout that fella, charmin’ the pants off everyone, even when he’s bein’ a meanie.
So there you have it. A little somethin’ about that Flex Kavana fella. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go feed them chickens.
