Alright, let’s talk about this fella, Cameron Young. Don’t know much about golf myself, but I hear he’s a pretty big deal. They say he’s a golfer, plays on that PGA TOUR thing. Seems like a fancy business, all them tournaments and whatnot.
Now, this Cameron Young, born on May 7th, they say. Don’t know which year, and frankly, don’t much care. He’s young enough to be my grandkid, that’s for sure. This PGA TOUR thing, they got all sorts of stats and videos and pictures of him. Must be important, I reckon. Folks seem to keep track of everything he does on that golf course.
And wouldn’t you know it, this young fella, Cameron Young, he went and shot a 59! Yep, 11-under par, they call it. Happened at some Travelers Championship in Connecticut. Folks were makin’ a big fuss about it. Heard tell he made two eagles, seven birdies, and didn’t mess up even once. Not a single bogey, they said. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? Even I know that’s good, real good. Sounds like he knows his way around that golf course better than I know my way around the kitchen!
They say he’s one of the big names, even when the other big shots ain’t around. Guess that means he’s pretty good. And get this, he almost made it onto that Ryder Cup team. Big deal, apparently. But he didn’t quite make the cut. Shame, but he’s young, he’ll have other chances, I reckon.
- He shot a 59 at the Travelers Championship!
- He’s considered one of the big names in golf.
- He almost made the Ryder Cup team.
Heard somethin’ about him makin’ history too, somethin’ about bein’ the 12th fella to ever shoot under 60 at that Travelers Championship. Folks keepin’ track of these things, I tell ya. Must be important for somethin’. ESPN, they got his profile and all sorts of news and stats. Like I said, fancy business, this golf thing.
Now, here’s a funny thing. Turns out the baseball commissioner, Rob Manfred, sponsors him! Imagine that. Baseball and golf, don’t seem like they go together, but I guess money’s money, right? Seems this Manfred fella and Cameron Young’s folks go way back, known each other for 20 years. Small world, ain’t it?
And this Cameron Young, he’s got a little one, a son named Henry. Says that little fella helps him forget about golf when he’s off the course. Good for him, I say. Family’s important. More important than golf, that’s for sure. And speaking of family, he’s got a caddie, used to be a fella named Paul Tesori, but not anymore. Seems Paul’s got a bad back, so now he’s with some other golfer, Brendon Todd. These golfers, they change caddies like I change socks. Almost, anyway.
And money? Oh, this boy’s got plenty, they say. Over fifteen million dollars! Can you imagine? That’s more money than I’ve seen in my whole life, and then some. Golf must pay pretty good, if you’re good at it, that is. Don’t reckon I’ll be takin’ up golf anytime soon though. Too much walkin’ for my old bones.
So, there you have it. What I know about Cameron Young. A young golfer, plays on that PGA TOUR, shoots fancy scores, makes lots of money, got a family, and a new caddie. Sounds like he’s doin’ alright for himself. Good for him, I say. Hope he keeps on hittin’ them little balls where they need to go.
