So, I got kinda obsessed with boxing gear for a bit, you know how it is. Went down a rabbit hole watching old fights, and kept seeing Floyd Mayweather. Love him or hate him, the guy knew his stuff, and people always talked about his gloves.

Naturally, I started looking into what gloves Mayweather actually used. First thing that popped up was Grant. Man, those things look slick. But then I checked the prices. Wowza. Seriously expensive, way out of my league for just hitting the bag at my local gym. Not happening.
Then I saw stuff about his own brand, TMT – The Money Team. Okay, maybe more affordable? Started digging around online shops. Found some TMT branded gloves. They looked alright, had the logo, seemed decent enough quality from the pictures. Decided to pull the trigger on a pair, not the crazy expensive ones, but something with the TMT vibe. Figured it’d be cool to have something connected, even loosely, to Mayweather.
Getting Them and First Thoughts
The package arrived after about a week. Gotta say, opening the box was kinda fun. They looked pretty sharp, nice color, the TMT logo was prominent. First thing I did was try them on.
- The fit felt snug, which I like.
- Padding seemed decent, not too soft, not rock hard.
- The wrist support felt okay, maybe not as stiff as some others I’ve tried, but alright.
They definitely had that new glove smell. You know the one. Overall, first impression was pretty good for the price I paid. Not Grant-level luxury, obviously, but they felt like solid training gloves.
Hitting the Gym
Couldn’t wait to actually use them. Took them to the gym the next day. First session was mostly heavy bag work. Strapped them on, felt secure. Started throwing some punches. They felt comfortable, absorbed the impact well. My knuckles felt protected, which is the main thing, right?

I spent a good hour just working the bag. Punches felt crisp. Didn’t notice any immediate issues. Compared to my older, beat-up gloves, these were definitely an upgrade in terms of feel and protection. The inner lining was comfortable too, didn’t get too sweaty or rough inside.
Over the next few weeks, I kept using them for bag work and sometimes pad work with a buddy. They started breaking in nicely. You know how new gloves can be a bit stiff? These loosened up just right, molding better to my hands. The stitching held up, no rips or tears appearing, which was a relief. Sometimes cheaper gloves fall apart fast.
So, What’s the Verdict?
Look, these TMT gloves aren’t magic. They didn’t suddenly give me Mayweather’s defensive skills or speed, haha. Wishful thinking, right? But as a pair of training gloves, they’ve done the job pretty well for me. They look cool, they feel good after breaking in, and they protect my hands.
Were they worth it? For me, yeah. They weren’t crazy expensive like the Grants he actually used in big fights, but they offered a bit of that connection and turned out to be decent quality for regular training. They’ve held up through quite a few sessions now.
It’s kinda fun having gear associated with a big name, even if it’s just the branding. Gets you a bit more motivated sometimes, maybe? Anyway, that’s my experience getting and using these Mayweather-branded gloves. Just a regular guy, hitting the bag, sharing my story.
