So, I was watching some wrestling the other night, and there’s Natalya, still doing her thing, year after year. She’s really one of the true veterans left who’s performing at that level. Seeing her always makes me think about her husband, Tyson Kidd.

I remember digging into their story a bit, just out of curiosity. It’s not like one of those quick wrestling marriages, you know? These two go way back. Way back. Like, since they were 12 years old or something crazy like that.
Here’s what I found out when I was looking into it:
- They started actually dating around 2001.
- Trained together at Stu Hart’s place, the famous Dungeon. Apparently, Kidd was smitten pretty fast, but Natalya took a bit longer to come around.
- Finally got married in 2013.
It was interesting because for a while WWE didn’t really mention they were married, then around 2014 they suddenly made it part of a storyline. Always weird when they mix real life like that.
What’s Kidd Up To Now?
Of course, most people remember his in-ring career got cut short. Real shame, that injury. But he didn’t just disappear. He transitioned, you know? He’s been working backstage for years now as a Producer.
It makes sense. Keeps him in the business he grew up in. Lots of guys try to figure out what’s next after they can’t wrestle anymore. Some manage it, some don’t. Seems like he found a solid spot helping guide the matches and talent.

It kinda reminds me of guys I knew back in my old job. You have your role, you do it for years, then something changes – company shifts, your health, whatever. You gotta pivot. Some folks fight it, some adapt. Kidd adapted. Still there, just in a different capacity. And Natalya, she’s still going strong in the ring, kinda carrying the torch in a way. It’s quite the dynamic they’ve got after all these years.
So yeah, whenever I see Natalya locking in that Sharpshooter, I give a little thought to Tyson Kidd behind the scenes, probably helping map that whole thing out. They’re a proper wrestling institution, those two.
