So, I got curious about the John Deere Classic golf odds today. Heard the tournament was coming up, or maybe I just saw it mentioned somewhere, and thought I’d take a peek at who the bookies liked.

First thing I did was grab my phone. Opened up my usual web browser, you know the one. Didn’t go to a specific app right away, just started with a search.
Typed something simple into the search bar, probably just “john deere classic odds” or maybe “golf odds john deere”. Hit enter and waited for the results to pop up.
Got a bunch of links back, mostly the big sports sites and the betting places. I think I clicked on one of the first few, maybe it was CBS Sports or PGA Tour’s own site, sometimes they list odds. Or it could have been one of the betting sites directly, they usually have the clearest lists.
Looking at the Numbers
Once the page loaded, there it was. A long list of golfers playing in the tournament. Next to each name, there were numbers. These were the odds, showing who was favored and who was considered a long shot.
- The guys with the lowest numbers next to their names, like +1200 or +1500, those were the favorites. Means you win less money back if they win because they’re expected to do well.
- Then you scroll down, and the numbers get bigger and bigger. +5000, +10000, even higher for the guys not really expected to contend.
I spent a few minutes just scanning the list. Didn’t really analyze it too hard, just wanted to get a general feel. Saw a few familiar names near the top, some guys I expected, maybe one or two surprises.

Basically, the process was simple: search, click, look at the list. The odds were presented pretty clearly, usually in that American odds format (+ something). Didn’t bother looking at other types of bets like top 10 finish or anything, just focused on the outright winner odds for this quick check.
That was it, really. Just a quick look to satisfy my curiosity about who was favored for the John Deere Classic this time around. Didn’t place any bets or anything, just doing my usual check-in on the sports world.
