So, I decided to check up on what Roger Federer’s been doing lately. Felt like ages since he retired, right? I just kinda wanted to see if he was coaching, maybe popping up at tournaments, you know, the usual stuff retired legends do.

My Process – Just Looking Around
First thing, I just typed his name into my usual search spots. Nothing fancy. I wasn’t looking for deep analysis, just a quick “what’s new?” kind of thing. I scrolled past the usual stuff – career stats, Wikipedia page, old match highlights. You always get those first.
Then I started seeing mentions of a documentary. Kept popping up. Something called ‘Federer: Twelve Final Days’. Okay, interesting. Wasn’t quite what I was initially looking for, which was more like, is he playing golf with Nadal, is he advising some new kid on the block? That sort of thing.
What I Found Instead
Turns out, a lot of the “news” is about this documentary. It covers his retirement, the very end bit. Lots of articles talking about its release, what scenes are in it, interviews he did for the documentary.

Beyond that, it felt kinda… curated? Like, you see pictures of him at fashion events, sponsor things, looking sharp. Which is great, good for him. But the day-to-day, gritty stuff? Not so much out there, or at least, not what jumped out at me immediately.
- Found lots about the documentary release.
- Saw pictures from events like the Met Gala.
- Read some interviews where he talks about life after tennis.
My Takeaway
It made me think, actually. When these guys are playing, the news is constant – match results, injuries, rankings, rivalries. It’s non-stop action. Post-retirement, it shifts completely. It becomes more about planned appearances, legacy projects like this documentary, business stuff. It’s less raw, more polished.
So, yeah, I started looking for everyday Federer news and mostly found stuff about his official documentary and public appearances. It’s different, quieter. Took me a bit to adjust my expectations from the constant feed we got when he was on tour. He seems to be doing well, just in a very different, more controlled public way now. That was my little dive for the day.
