Okay, so I’ve been grinding away in Road to the Show on MLB The Show 24, you know? Putting up decent numbers, but man, my team… let’s just say things weren’t clicking, and I felt stuck. I needed a change, a new jersey, maybe some better teammates around me. So, I decided it was time to figure out how to ask for a trade.

First thing I did was fire up the console and load my RTTS save file. Got my guy onto the main hub screen, the one where you see your player and all the menu options around.
Finding That Trade Option
Alright, now I had to actually find where to make the request. It wasn’t immediately obvious, gotta say. I poked around a bit. I first looked under the main ‘Play’ options, thinking maybe it was tied to the calendar or something. Nope.
Then I went over to the sections about my player. I think it was under the ‘My Player’ tab or maybe it was called ‘Career Central’? Honestly, the menus blend together sometimes. I clicked through a few things there, like stats and clubhouse stuff.
Eventually, I landed on a screen that had interactions or maybe team-related options. It took a minute of looking, but then I saw it. There was an option, clear as day, labeled something like ‘Request Trade’. It might have been under a ‘Contracts’ or ‘Interactions’ sub-menu, I think.
Making the Actual Request
So, I highlighted that ‘Request Trade’ option. Felt kinda final, you know? Like telling your boss you wanna leave. I selected it.

The game then popped up a confirmation message. Just making sure I really wanted to do this. It probably warned that it might upset the team or something, the usual stuff. I just went ahead and confirmed it. Yes, I want out!
After confirming, that was basically it for the initial step. There wasn’t like a big form to fill out or specific teams to request, not at that point anyway. The game just acknowledged my request.
Then, it was back to playing. You don’t get traded immediately. I just had to keep playing games, going through the schedule day by day. After a few games, maybe a week or two in game time, I got called into the manager’s or GM’s office. They talked about the request, sometimes they try to talk you out of it, sometimes they just say they’ll look into it. From there, you just wait and see if a trade offer comes through. It’s a bit of a waiting game, really.
But yeah, that’s how I went about requesting a trade. Just navigate those menus, find the player/career section, look for the interaction or contract options, and hit that request button. Pretty straightforward once you find it.
