Okay, so I decided to try and nail that “Becky Lynch elbow” move. You know, the one she does where she kind of runs, jumps, and smashes her elbow down? Yeah, that one. Looked cool, so I figured, why not?

First, I cleared out some space in my living room. Moved the coffee table, pushed the couch back – gotta have room to, you know, not break anything (or myself).
Practice Makes Perfect(Elbow)
I started with just practicing the run-up. Just a few quick steps, nothing fancy. Felt a little silly at first, like I was in some kind of weird workout video. Did that a bunch of times, trying to get a feel for the momentum.
- Run-up practice: Short bursts, focusing on speed.
Next, I tried adding a little hop. Nothing crazy, just a small jump at the end of the run. This part was tricky. Timing is everything, and my first few attempts were… clumsy. I felt like a baby deer learning to walk. Kind of flopping all over the place.
- Added a small jump to the run-up.
- Many clumsy attempts.
Then came the elbow part. This is where things got interesting. I started by just kind of… throwing my elbow down towards the floor. No jump, no run, just standing still and trying to get the motion right. It felt awkward, like I was trying to swat a fly that wasn’t there.
- Practiced the elbow motion separately.
- Felt and possibly looked strange.
Finally, I tried to put it all together. Run, jump, elbow… smack! Except there was no smack, because I wasn’t hitting anything. I did it onto the rug, so it wasn’t exactly high-impact. My first few tries were pretty awful. I either jumped too early, didn’t get enough height, or my elbow was way off target. It was a mess.

But, I kept at it. Over and over again. Run, jump, elbow. Run, jump, elbow. Slowly, it started to feel… well, less awkward. I started to get a little more height on the jump, and my elbow was coming down a bit straighter.
I’m definitely not going to be challenging Becky Lynch anytime soon. But I can kind of do the move now. It’s still pretty rough, but it’s progress. I might keep practicing. Maybe one day I’ll actually be able to, you know, hit something with it. For now, though, I’m just glad I didn’t break any furniture – or my elbow.
