Alright, so I finally decided to dive deep into MLB The Show 24’s “March to October” mode. I’d messed around with it in previous versions, but never really committed. This time, I was determined to see it through.

First, I picked my team. I went with the Mariners, because, well, I like their uniforms, and I figured they had a decent shot at making a run. Don’t judge my team selection process, okay?
Then the game threw me right into it. It starts you off at key moments during the season, like a crucial game against a rival or trying to break a losing streak. It’s not just playing full games one after another, which I actually liked. It kept things moving.
The Gameplay Cycle
- Play Key Moments: The game sets up the scenario. Maybe you’re down by two in the 8th, or you need to protect a one-run lead.
- Succeed or Fail: Based on how you do, your team’s “momentum” changes. It felt good to string some wins, to see my team winning.
- Make Trades: Between these key moments, you get chances to tinker with your roster. I traded for a power-hitting first baseman because my lineup felt a little weak.
- Call Up Prospects: You also get to call up some young guns from the minors. I brought up a speedy outfielder who ended up being a real spark plug.
I got really into the rhythm of it. Winning felt great, and even the losses fueled me to try and turn things around in the next key moment. The trade deadline was super exciting, trying to wheel and deal to improve my team. I even got a little attached to some of my players, which is silly, I know, but it happened!
The Postseason Push
As the season went on, the pressure started building. My goal, of course, was to make the playoffs. The later key moments felt a little stressful. My hands are shaking a little, and I found myself talking to the TV.
Finally, after I finished a whole season, I am qualified to go to the postseason!

I think “March to October” is a solid game mode. If you want a faster-paced way to experience a full season, without playing every single game, it’s definitely worth checking out. Just don’t blame me if you start yelling at your TV, too.
